A Celebration of Queer Culture: Body Movements Festival 2026

Music, Community, and Collective Vibes
The Body Movements festival, a vibrant celebration of queer and trans artistry, will return to Southwark Park on Sunday, August 30th, 2026. Founded by DJ Saoirse, Clayton Wright of Little Gay Brother, and promoter Simon Denby, this festival has quickly established itself as a pivotal part of London’s DIY dance music scene. It is designed not just as an event but as a community gathering that amplifies the voices of 2SLGBTQIA+ artists, collectives, and communities.

A Diverse Musical Lineup
This year’s event is set to feature an impressive range of artists that demonstrate the festival’s commitment to both international and local talent. The lineup includes notable names such as Amaliah, BASHKKA, Eris Drew, Octo Octa, and Romy, alongside a host of other exciting acts like MCR-T, Twang, and GIDEÖN. The festival is meticulously structured to span various genres—house, techno, ballroom, breaks, hyperpop, and experimental club sounds—promising something for every kind of electronic music enthusiast.

Stages That Pulse with Energy
Body Movements will utilize five distinct stages: Mother, The Strap, Snatch, Hot Mess, and Glory Hole. Each stage will feature performances and sets that reflect the rich diversity of contemporary queer dance music. This multifaceted approach allows attendees to experience a plethora of sounds and styles, making for an exhilarating day of music and dance.

Collaborations and Creative Communities
One of the most compelling aspects of Body Movements is its collective-led model. This year, notable collaborations will take place with various crews including 2CPERREA, Adonis, Club Are, and Jungle Kitty. Their involvement will add unique flavors to the festival and enhance the overall experience. These takeovers and co-curations are a testament to the festival’s focus on fostering partnerships within the community, creating an event that is both celebratory and inclusive.

More Than Just Music
While the music is undoubtedly the centerpiece of Body Movements, the festival also offers attendees a chance to engage in other enriching experiences. This year’s programming includes Jay Jay Revlon’s Vogue Masterclass, giving participants a chance to immerse themselves in the art of voguing, and the Fancy a Mooch Queer Market, where local queer creators and entrepreneurs can showcase their work. Additional programming details are still to be announced, promising even more opportunities for attendees to engage culturally and creatively.

A Platform for Emerging Artists
The Body Movements festival is committed to empowering new and emerging artists from the 2SLGBTQIA+ spectrum. With a dedicated platform for these voices, the festival not only entertains but also cultivates a space for artistic growth and expression. This commitment to inclusivity is what sets Body Movements apart from other music festivals.

How to Be Part of the Experience
