Celebrating Women in Music: A Networking Event in Cambridge for International Women’s Day

In celebration of International Women’s Day (IWD), DJ MissChivers has announced a groundbreaking event titled Femmes Fatales: The State Of The Scene. This networking and panel discussion aims to empower women in the electronic music industry while championing innovation and gender parity in both creative and technical sectors.

Scheduled for today, Friday, March 6, the event will span from 7 PM to 3 AM across two vibrant venues in Cambridge, promising an evening filled with inspiration, connection, and, of course, dance music. With the event structured into two key segments, attendees can look forward to both insightful discussions and exhilarating performances.

The first part of the evening will take place at The Earl of Derby pub on Hills Road from 7 PM to 11 PM. This venue will serve as the professional hub where women in the electronic music scene can gather to share experiences, insights, and foster new connections. Afterward, the party will shift to Rocker’s on Cambridge Leisure Park, continuing the celebration from 11 PM to 3 AM, where attendees can let loose and enjoy the music.

“This International Women’s Day, we really want to instigate some real connections in the dance music scene for Cambridge, especially with the female DJs, producers and MCs/vocalists,” said DJ MissChivers. Known for her commitment to uplifting women in the industry, she previously hosted a series of Femmes Fatales events in Cambridge, Norwich, and London from 2009 to 2012, making this relaunch a significant milestone for the local music community.

“The music industry thrives on diversity,” MissChivers continued, emphasizing the importance of women in shaping the future of electronic music. “By relaunching Femmes Fatales, we are not only encouraging women to lead conversations but also to collaborate and grow together.” This notion of community and support resonates deeply within the walls of the local music scene, where many artists often face challenges navigating a traditionally male-dominated space.

This event is designed to break down those barriers and create a supportive environment that celebrates the powerful contributions of women in electronic music. With an agenda that balances informative discussions and energetic performances, participants can both learn and enjoy a night filled with musical synergy.

The lineup for the evening is equally impressive, featuring artists like Charlie R, Mai, Miss White b2b MissChivers, and Xena. Each DJ brings their unique flair to the scene, ensuring a diverse musical experience. With talent pouring in from various backgrounds, attendees can expect to immerse themselves in an array of electronic music styles.

Overall, Femmes Fatales: The State Of The Scene represents more than just a night of music; it signifies a movement towards greater inclusivity in the electronic music landscape. By prioritizing collaboration and support among women, this event seeks to forge lasting connections that extend beyond the dance floor into the broader music community.
