EXIT Festival Expands Its Horizons with the New Starlight Festival in Egypt
A New Era of Celebration Near Ancient Wonders
EXIT Festival, celebrated as a three-time winner of the European Best Major Festival award, is poised to make a significant mark on Egypt’s cultural landscape this October. The newly inaugurated Starlight Festival, scheduled for October 8th to 11th, promises to be a vibrant multi-day event held near the iconic Great Pyramids of Giza. This venture is produced in collaboration with Venture Lifestyle and its pioneering electronic music platform, P+US, marking an exciting new chapter for the EXIT brand.
An Unmissable Lineup: International and Regional Heavyweights
One of the standout features of the Starlight Festival is its exceptional lineup. The festival will be graced by some of the most widely recognized names in electronic music. The event is set to be headlined by Charlotte de Witte, known for her mesmerizing performances, who will deliver her first-ever set in Egypt. Adding to the excitement, the upbeat and charismatic Michael Bibi will also be making his debut at this historical venue.
Another notable act is Adriatique, the melodic techno duo who are no strangers to the pyramids, having previously drawn a crowd of nearly 10,000 attendees. The lineup doesn’t stop there; artists such as Vintage Culture, renowned DJ and broadcaster Pete Tong, WhoMadeWho, and Enrico Sangiuliano will also take to the stage, ensuring a rich tapestry of performances throughout the festival.
A Picturesque Setting Against Ancient History
The Starlight Festival will be situated in the shadow of one of the modern Seven Wonders of the World—the Great Pyramids. While the site will serve as a magnificent backdrop, organizers have confirmed that the festival will not take place directly on the monument grounds. Instead, it will be hosted in a specially designated area that respects the historical significance and protected status of this ancient site.
Attendees will have the unique opportunity to immerse themselves in a festival that not only celebrates contemporary music but also resonates with thousands of years of cultural heritage. The contrasting elements of modern electronic beats set against the timeless backdrop of pyramids offer an experience unlike any other.
Cultural and Musical Convergence
Reflecting on this monumental undertaking, Dušan Kovačević, founder and CEO of EXIT Festival, expressed his thoughts about bringing such a prestigious event to a location of rich historical importance. “It is a great honour to be invited to bring the premium festival concept near one of the grandest monuments in human history,” he stated. His vision for EXIT has always focused on “breaking boundaries and connecting people through music in unique settings.”
Kovačević’s passion for uniting the global electronic music community shines through in this endeavor. With the Pyramids of Giza serving as a historical intersection for celebration, the Starlight Festival promises to foster an environment rich in both energy and culture.
A Festival Experience Like No Other
The Starlight Festival represents a merging of two worlds: the ancient and the contemporary. It aims to showcase one of the most diverse electronic music lineups the region has witnessed, while at the same time respecting the character and history of its surroundings. As the sun sets near the pyramids and the beats drop, attendees can anticipate an unforgettable experience that is both musical and historically enriching.
This unprecedented gathering is more than just a festival; it is a celebration of music, culture, and the majestic landscapes of Egypt, all coming together under the stars, creating a symphony that resonates through time.
