This Year’s Somewhere Festival: A Diverse Musical Journey Awaits in Wichita
Returning to downtown Wichita on September 25th to 26th, the Somewhere Festival is set to captivate attendees with its most expansive and diverse lineup to date. Headlining the event is none other than the acclaimed country superstar Bailey Zimmerman, who is joined by a unique mix of talent including global dance music icon DJ Diesel—the real-life Shaquille O’Neal, electronic duo Bob Moses with their Club Set, singer-songwriter Ian Munsick, and the dynamic dance duo Two Friends. Not to be overlooked, the lineup also features emerging talents like Evan Honer, Night Tales (presenting CLR), and the NPR Tiny Desk Contest-winning collective Cure for Paranoia, along with more than twenty additional artists from across the nation, region, and Wichita itself.
Bridging Genres and Communities
Produced by Movement Musick in collaboration with Breakaway, Somewhere Festival has rapidly become one of the Midwest’s most distinctive music festivals. Blending national and local talent, the festival is a testament to Wichita’s thriving creative community. Attendees can expect two full days of vibrant live music, art, food, immersive experiences, and community engagement right in the heart of downtown.
Building on the success of its first two iterations, this year’s festival showcases an evolution in its mission. Somewhere has always championed musical discovery over strict genre boundaries. This year’s lineup emphasizes that very ethos by including artists from a wide range of genres: country, electronic, indie, hip-hop, singer-songwriter, soul, and more. This fusion creates exciting opportunities for festival-goers to forge new musical connections.
Community Engagement and Vision
Laurel Anderson, the Community Engagement Manager at Somewhere Festival, shares insights into the festival’s mission. “One of the clearest takeaways from last year was how much people valued discovering artists and sounds they might not otherwise encounter. As Somewhere grows, we want to preserve that sense of discovery while welcoming an even broader audience,” she notes. This year’s lineup does just that, featuring a mix of established names, rising stars, and local talent, all converging for a memorable weekend.
The festival also aligns with Movement Musick’s broader goal of bolstering Wichita’s creative ecosystem. By bringing together artists, audiences, local organizations, and creative partners, Somewhere aims to foster collaboration and shared experience throughout the events.
Showcasing Local Talent Amidst National Stars
In addition to prominent headliners, Somewhere Festival remains committed to celebrating local talent. Attendees will have the chance to experience performances from artists such as 2ŁØT, Bri McBride, Charlie Wilks, Flake, Indigo Sol, Neon Run, and many others. Staying true to its founding vision, the festival offers a platform where nationally recognized performers share the stage with emerging regional artists, creating a rich tapestry of sound and experience.
A Fully Immersive Experience
Wichita will once again transform into a vibrant, walkable celebration of music and culture. With multiple stages spread throughout the downtown area, the festival will feature local food vendors, interactive art installations, sponsor activations, free community programming, and a variety of fan experiences. Among the standout initiatives is the Be The People Block Party, which invites attendees to engage directly with local and national organizations focusing on critical social issues like addiction recovery, mental health, and civic engagement, encouraging ongoing community involvement.
New Pass Options for Enhanced Experiences
For the 2026 edition, attendees can choose from various premium pass options, including VIP experiences and the exciting Somewhere On Stage experience, which offers exclusive viewing areas and premium amenities for an elevated festival experience. Planning to accommodate a larger audience, the festival is rolling out features aimed at enhancing attendee engagement and satisfaction.
