What led you to start DJing?
The journey into the realm of DJing often begins with a spark of inspiration, and for many, that igniting moment comes from the pulsating atmosphere of nightclubs. For me, the catalyst was my experience in clubs, particularly after I moved to Paris. I was already deep into music production at the age of 16, but it was in Paris that I truly discovered the vibrant club scene. The turning point came when I saw Brodinski discussing the art of DJing on television. That moment ignited a burning desire within me to explore the craft of DJing, leading me to not just produce music but also perform it live.
What’s the first set you ever played?
My inaugural set was a memorable one, filled with excitement and joy. It took place at Chez Brongniart, a charming restaurant in Paris, during the Fête de la Musique in 2019. The experience was exhilarating—being on stage, surrounded by the energy of a live audience, and sharing music for the first time solidified my passion for DJing.
What DJs or artists inspire you?
Skrillex, SebastiAn, FKA twigs, and PinkPantheress are some of the artists that greatly inspire me. Each of them carries a unique sound and characteristic style that reflects their individuality. They’ve successfully created immersive artistic worlds around their music, which inspires me to bring my own distinctive voice into my DJing.
How has your local scene shaped your mixing and curation?
Being part of Paris’s local scene has significantly influenced my evolution as a DJ. The standard of talent here is exceptionally high, which creates an environment compelling me to push my limits constantly. To compete, I had to grind hard, honing my skills to reach the bar set by the talented artists around me.
This city is a melting pot of cultures, genres, and musical styles, all intertwining and influencing one another. This eclectic atmosphere has likely influenced my music selection and mixing approach. Every set I create embodies not just my personal touch but also the pulse of Paris itself.
What’s the most memorable set you’ve ever played?
The pinnacle of my DJing journey thus far has been playing back-to-back with Skrillex at Panorama Bar for the CTM Festival in 2025. That moment stands out as a legendary highlight of my career, a testament to the peaks of collaboration and artistic connection that live performance can offer.
What excites you about the future of nightlife?
The future of nightlife is incredibly exciting for me, especially with the increasing acceptance of diverse musical genres that were once deemed niche. There’s a palpable movement toward a more inclusive approach to music, breaking the constraints of genre boundaries. DJs today blend various styles, creating dynamic soundscapes that defy categorization.
This trend is particularly pronounced within the Parisian scene. You can hear it in the electrifying sets of DJs like Crystallmess, Simo Cell, Toma Kami, and Jeune Pouce, who shift seamlessly between different sounds to craft sets that are genuinely thrilling and unpredictable.
What DJ trend needs to die?
One trend that could use a reassessment is DJing half-naked. While self-expression is important, I think there’s greater substance in the music and performance itself than in the clothing choices.
How would you describe your FADER mix?
My FADER mix features a selection of my unreleased tracks and traverses a variety of sounds, all while maintaining a strong focus on keeping the energy flowing on the dancefloor.
Where did you record the mix? Describe your surroundings.
The mix was recorded at my home, where the atmosphere was relaxed and personal. My son danced around me as I worked, bringing an added layer of joy to the process.
Beyond DJing and music, what’s an interest you have that may surprise people?
Contrary to what some might expect, I have a deep fascination with quantum physics and astronomy. I love indulging in podcasts that explore these subjects, contemplating how much we still have to learn about the universe. The vast landscapes of the cosmos ignite my imagination, serving as a reminder of the countless mysteries yet to be unveiled.
Additionally, I have an interest in astrology. While I don’t let it dictate my life, it has provided a lens through which to reflect on personal dynamics and transitions. Furthermore, I derive enjoyment from playing chess, which presents its own set of strategic challenges and rewards.
