A Light That Guides Weary Travelers Home represents a significant chapter in Bayer’s artistic journey, driven by themes of grief, transformation, parenthood, and the quest for belonging. His experiences as a new father to his son, Wesley, greatly influenced the album, prompting Bayer to step back from the frenetic pace of touring. Instead, he immersed himself in his home studio in Potomac, Maryland, crafting music that captures the essence of personal evolution and musical introspection.

The tour kicks off in his native Portland on December 4 at 45 East, followed by a performance at Celebrities in Vancouver on December 5. A notable highlight will be his return to Toronto on December 30 at The Mod Club, culminating in a highly anticipated New Year’s Eve gig, the details of which are yet to be revealed. The West Coast leg of the tour is set for January 2024, including stops at Gods & Monsters in San Francisco on January 15 and Academy in Los Angeles on January 16, promising unforgettable experiences for attendees.
