For over 25 years, A State of Trance (ASOT) has evolved from a humble weekly radio show to a massive global trance platform. Spearheaded by the legendary Armin van Buuren, ASOT has expanded its reach across continents, hosting electrifying events in Europe, Asia, and the Americas. The latest announcement from Armin van Buuren has set the trance music world ablaze: Los Angeles is set to host the very first two-day A State of Trance festival in the United States on June 11 and 12, 2027.
A State Of Trance Expands In Los Angeles
The exciting news was unveiled during ASOT LA Unfiltered, an intimate pop-up event held in Downtown Los Angeles on October 8. In an exclusive gathering attended by a select group of fans, Armin van Buuren dazzled the audience with a two-hour set, culminating in the thrilling announcement of the forthcoming festival at ACE*MISSION Studios.
This marks a significant milestone, as while previous ASOT events have taken place in California—including editions in both Oakland and Los Angeles—this festival will be the first two-day extravaganza on U.S. soil. Following the successful format of larger ASOT festivals around the globe, the event promises two full days of trance music, community, and excitement.
A State Of Trance Hotel Joins The Weekend
Accompanying the festival at ACE*MISSION Studios, the A State of Trance Hotel will provide additional immersive experiences throughout the weekend. Previous editions of ASOT festivals have offered a wealth of activities surrounding the main event, including pool parties, pre-parties, and special hotel events, allowing attendees to connect and celebrate their love for trance music. While exact details for the Los Angeles weekend remain under wraps, anticipation is building as fans register for hotel packages and tickets, eager for the festival lineup and activities to be revealed.
A State Of Trance Celebrates 25 Years
The Los Angeles festival is a key component of A State of Trance’s 25th anniversary, further enriching the celebratory atmosphere. Launched in 2001 by Armin van Buuren, the weekly ASOT radio show has undergone a remarkable transformation over the years. It has blossomed into a comprehensive platform that encompasses compilations, massive international events, and large-scale festivals—all while maintaining its deep connection to trance music.
In an exciting lead-up to this milestone, Armin van Buuren released A State of Trance 2026 in May 2026, marking the 23rd installment in the compilation series. The album features three distinct mixes—Pulse, Frequency, and Energy—showcasing a diverse array of artists, including Argy, Andrew Bayer, Joris Voorn, Amy Wiles, Farius, KI/KI, and Lilly Palmer. The track ‘Always You’, created by Armin van Buuren, Richard Durand, and Dicosis was chosen as the anthem for the 25-year celebrations, resonating with fans worldwide.
The 25th anniversary celebrations don’t stop there. An exciting five-date residency kicked off in Ibiza in September 2026 at [UNVRS]. Every Monday throughout the month, Armin van Buuren delivered extended five-hour sets, treating fans to special performances alongside invited artists and collaborators. The accompanying compilation, A State of Trance, Ibiza 2026, features contributions from prominent artists such as Andrew Bayer, Giuseppe Ottaviani, Matt Fax, Solarstone, MaRLo, BLR, and Richard Durand.
ASOT Continues Into 2027
Before the focus shifts to Los Angeles, the A State of Trance family will reunite in Rotterdam on February 26 and 27, 2027. This event will maintain the successful two-day format already established in the Netherlands. As registration for this Rotterdam edition is already underway, excitement continues to build as the anniversary celebrations persist into another year.
As June 11 and 12, 2027, draws nearer, Los Angeles stands poised to become a pivotal stop on the ASOT calendar. Key details, including the lineup and individual day schedules, are yet to be announced. However, as anticipation grows, fans eagerly await the unveiling of the A State of Trance Hotel experiences and all associated attractions. This festival promises to solidify Los Angeles as a new landmark in the global trance scene, setting the stage for what is sure to be a monumental celebration of this beloved genre.
