The first-ever Alchemical Sisters DJ set happened in East London, where Eris Drew and Octo Octa played together under their new duo name for the first time. They recorded the set live at an intimate session to mark their appearance on a magazine cover, and fans can now hear the full mix.
The first Alchemical Sisters DJ set, live in Hackney Wick
The night took place on Thursday 15 October 2026 at Number 90 on Wallis Road in Hackney Wick, with Michelle Manetti also on the bill. The event listing promised house, hardware-heavy grooves and early previews of tracks from the duo’s debut album. That fits two DJs who are known for their all-vinyl back-to-back sets. The finished recording runs to almost two hours.
From b2b partners to a band
Eris Drew and Maya Bouldry-Morrison, who records as Octo Octa, are partners in life and in music. In 2019 they launched the label T4T LUV NRG, which describes its records as “alchemical objects for use in DJing, dancing, kissing and crying.” The label has put out releases by both of them, plus Rrose, Bored Lord, DJ Autopay and others. Even so, Alchemical Sisters is their first full album together. The project grew out of their shared DJ sets.
The duo describe their sound as “psychedelic chaos, acid rollers, and big beat, channeled through hardware instruments and animated by love, touch, rhythm, and spiritual fire.”
The album: made in a New Hampshire cabin, mixed in Detroit
The self-titled album came out on 18 October 2026 on Interdimensional Transmissions. Just three days earlier, the London set had given fans a first taste. The pair turned the bedroom of their New Hampshire cabin into a studio and worked mostly through the long winter months. They used hardware instruments, turntables, dulcimers and what they call ancestral instruments, alongside newer technology. BMG then mixed the recordings at the Interdimensional Laboratory in Detroit.
The double album has eight tracks: “This Is How It Should Be Done”, “We’ve Seen Great Power”, “Double Acid”, “Anytime Sisters Slide”, “One 2 One 2 Three Four”, “Did You Know”, “Song for New Hampshire” and “Why Not Dream”. Octo Octa has had a busy year: her solo album Sigils for Survival came out on 30 April 2026.
If you’ve ever lost yourself in one of their marathon vinyl sets, this mix is the closest thing yet to hearing the new project the way it’s meant to sound: loud, loose and full of joy.
