Loopmasters has unveiled Loopcloud 8, a significant update to its renowned sample management service. The enhanced version increases the functionality and versatility for producers, featuring groundbreaking tools for arranging and manipulating audio samples.
New Features: Inspire and Listen
Loopcloud 8 introduces two core features, Inspire and Listen. Inspire allows users to generate initial arrangements by selecting a genre, leading to a curated combination of samples, chords, and drums. This facilitates a quick start to a project, enabling producers to manipulate these arrangements before integrating them into their digital audio workstations (DAWs).
On the other hand, Listen analyzes music in a DAW, suggesting samples that harmonize with the existing composition. This feature helps in identifying sounds tailored to the key and tempo of the producer’s music, enhancing the songwriting process.
Enhanced Search Capabilities
Advanced Search is a notable addition, allowing producers to describe sounds using everyday language instead of relying solely on traditional tags. This feature caters to various needs, enabling searches for specific tonal characteristics or musical references that transcend standard categorization.
In addition, the existing Flip functionality has been expanded, doubling the preset transformations available to users. This improvement enables deeper manipulation of audio samples, fostering creativity and innovation within musical arrangements.
New Audio Effects and MIDI Enhancements
With the introduction of five new audio effects—including Gator, Looper, Utility, Chorus, and Bitcrush—Loopcloud 8 broadens the processing options available before samples are imported into a DAW. These effects create new possibilities for sound manipulation, allowing producers to enhance their audio material significantly.
The update also includes an extensive library of over 125,000 MIDI files, bolstered by a new system that auto-selects appropriate instruments based on the MIDI files played. This improves the workflow when experimenting with MIDI patterns and facilitates musical exploration.
Loopcloud's New Mobile Application
In a move to increase accessibility, Loopcloud 8 has launched its first iOS application. This app enables producers to browse samples, create collections, and generate ideas directly from their mobile devices. The synchronization with the desktop application ensures that producers can continue their workflow seamlessly, even while away from their primary setup.
