EdiP is making his North American debut, showcasing his vibrant sound after creating waves with his remix of John Summit’s ‘Focus.’ The Romanian DJ and producer is set to bring his unique blend of minimal and tech house to various venues across the continent, bridging the gap between his studio releases and live performances.
Roots in Bucharest's Minimal Scene
Originating from Bucharest, EdiP, born Edi Preduca, developed his sound within a city renowned for its minimal electronic music. His early experiences at venues like Nook, Grădina Monteoru, and prominent festivals such as SAGA Festival and Sunwaves have shaped his patient approach to music, focusing on groove and atmosphere combined with tech house elements.
Recognition and Breakthroughs
EdiP’s distinctive sound quickly gained traction, earning him the sixth spot on Beatport’s top minimal artists list for 2023 and 2024. His collaboration with Chicks Luv Us, ‘Nuthin’ On,’ reached number one on Beatport, followed by successful releases on labels such as Experts Only, Insomniac Records, Catch & Release, and Club Sweat. His tracks have received support from key figures in the electronic music scene, further solidifying his reputation.
Performances at UNVRS and Beyond
This summer marked a significant milestone for EdiP, as he became the first Romanian artist to perform at UNVRS in Ibiza during John Summit’s Experts Only event. Following this, he played at FISHER’s residency, where a recording of his set is now part of the New Horizons series from UNVRS. EdiP embraces the opportunity to experiment with music in Ibiza, aiming to connect with the audience through live performances.
New Releases and Futures
EdiP’s partnership with John Summit continues to flourish, with his remix of Summit and LAVINIA’s ‘Shadows’ released on Experts Only. Additionally, his upcoming single, ‘Sober,’ is set to debut on Don Diablo’s HEXAGON label, a platform he has long admired. These releases signify EdiP’s evolving journey as an artist, both in the studio and during live performances.
As EdiP expands his touring, he has already made his mark in Asia and is preparing for shows in Australia and an anticipated North American tour. For an artist whose music has already made it across continents, this touring debut feels well-deserved.
