FlickSwitch Audio has introduced version 1.1 of their plugin Liminal, a dynamic threshold processor designed for detailed transient processing. This update expands Liminal’s capabilities by allowing independent control of audio transients, enhancing its utility for music producers.
Innovative Audio Processing Features
Liminal addresses conventional transient processing limitations by categorizing incoming audio into three distinct lanes based on transient intensity. Each lane can be manipulated independently, providing producers the flexibility to adjust processing for louder hits and softer notes, an approach that reduces the need for multiple tracks and complex automation.
New Functionality in Version 1.1
The latest version adds multi-output routing, allowing producers to direct individual transient lanes to separate channels within their DAW. This feature enables more detailed mixing as each lane can receive further processing while retaining original audio integrity.
Enhanced Control Over Audio Elements
The addition of an eight-band EQ on each lane empowers users with tonal adjustments without consuming valuable effects slots. This means producers can refine the sound of specific audio elements like drums or instruments effectively while maintaining a balanced overall mix.
Pricing and System Compatibility
Liminal 1.1 is currently priced at $59, part of an early promotional offer. The plugin supports various formats, ensuring compatibility across different systems, including VST3 and AAX for Windows and macOS users. A 14-day trial version is also available for producers wishing to explore its capabilities firsthand.
