In a quick turn of events a last minute decision was made from Anyma and Coachella team to cancel the highly anticipated debut of ÆDEN. Friday was forecasted for strong winds that posed a safety risk for attendees at Coachella. With wind gusts reportedly reaching 35 mph, the massive LED structures and intricate production required for the debut of ÆDEN were deemed a physical hazard. Unfortunately, the threat is real and with the production needing to be built out after Sabrina Carpenter’s performance, the wind also posed a hazard for the people who would have to climb up on poles with tools and heavy equipment to get the production ready.
With an upcoming world tour of ÆDEN, Coachella is the only major festival scheduled for Anyma this season and the only show of this tour for the US. As of now, it remains unclear if the set will be rescheduled for Saturday or Sunday night, or if fans will have to wait until Weekend 2 to finally witness ÆDEN. Following Sabrina Carpenters set a message appeared on screen to inform attendees.
“Due to strong wind conditions affecting Anyma’s stage build, he is unable to perform tonight. Coachella and Anyma have made this decision together with your safety as the priority”
“I’m sorry everyone, We’ve done everything in our control to build the show I’ve worked an entire year on. Safety always comes first and we’re working on a solution now.”-Anyma
Let’s hope something can be figured out, as this was one of the most anticipated sets of the weekend.
