Techno pioneer Claude Young will play a special live ambient set at Reset Fest in Detroit on May 24.
Detroit techno legend Claude Young is set to make a rare live appearance with an ambient set at Reset Fest, taking place on May 23 and 24, 2026, in Detroit’s Corktown district.
The performance, scheduled for May 24, marks a special moment for the Motor City veteran, who announced his retirement from DJing in 2023. While largely stepping back from regular performances, Young has continued to appear selectively, making this ambient set a notable addition to Movement festival weekend.
Reset Fest will be held at Batch Brewing Company, focusing on ambient and experimental electronic music, offering a contrast to the high-energy programming typically associated with the wider festival circuit.
Alongside Claude Young, the lineup features artists such as Noise Syndikat, Decompiler, Omnitel, Alvin Hill, Gwendolyn Dot and Club Drippy, highlighting a diverse range of atmospheric and forward-thinking sounds.
Since his retirement announcement, Young has made only a handful of appearances, including performances at Tec-Troit Festival in 2024 and a benefit event for Anthony “Shake” Shakir.
His upcoming set at Reset Fest offers a rare opportunity to experience one of Detroit’s foundational figures in a more introspective, ambient context.
