The Rise of Prime Culture: Alberto Bragado’s Vision for Electronic Music Management
On a humid summer night at DC10 in Ibiza, a scene unfolds that epitomizes the energy of nightlife—the vibe within the club is a blissful cacophony of beats and lights. Yet, amidst the sonic chaos, one figure stands out for his calm demeanor: Alberto Bragado. As the founder of Prime Culture, the management company backing DJ PAWSA—and other rising stars—Bragado has created a vibrant ecosystem in the heart of electronic music.
A Management Company with Purpose
Established to nurture and promote talent, Prime Culture has grown from its humble beginnings alongside artists like Michael Bibi and PAWSA in 2014. It quickly became synonymous with the vibe of the Ibiza nightlife scene while fostering the careers of artists under its wing. Primarily associated with Solid Grooves, the label co-founded by Bibi and PAWSA, Prime has expanded its roster to include notable names like the Dutch duo ANOTR and various other emerging talents in the electronic music genre.
Bragado reflects on how the company’s inception was rooted in friendship and a shared passion for music. “At the beginning it was just us,” he recalls, when they were running a Solid Grooves residency at Privilege, which transformed into an exciting afterparty experience at a villa nearby. This spontaneous gathering eventually garnered significant buzz on social media, establishing them as key players in Ibiza and maintaining their reputation as the “new kids on the block.”
Cultivating a Community
Today, Prime Culture flourishes with a team of nine managers dedicated to nurturing 33 artists, including Carlita, Ben Sterling, and Beltran. This diverse roster reflects a “cool kids’ table” in house and techno, united by shared sounds and aesthetics, each artist supporting one another. Bragado emphasizes the importance of cultivating a community where everyone feels empowered to express their artistry and pursue individual projects without being tied to a rigid management structure.
Unlike traditional management agencies that require lengthy contracts, Prime operates more like a collective. “Any artist can leave at any time,” he asserts. This refreshing approach ensures that relationships are built on trust rather than obligation, fostering a supportive environment where creative endeavors can thrive.
A Dynamic Business Model
Bragado’s innovative vision goes beyond artist management; it incorporates aspects of booking and event production as well. Prime Culture boasts in-house event production and an A&R department designed to assist artists with their music and growth. This hybrid model allows Prime to create a sustainable ecosystem for artists while keeping their unique sounds and identities intact.
This scalability has paid off—Bibi and PAWSA have become significant draws across festivals in the U.S. and Europe. In 2024, Bibi headlined a show in London’s Finsbury Park, attracting an impressive audience of 45,000, while PAWSA’s performance at Gunnersbury Park drew in 25,000 fans. Such accomplishments underscore the effectiveness of Bragado’s approach to artist representation.
Expanding Horizons: Select Culture
In a significant move, Bragado and his team launched Select Culture, an agency designed to cater specifically to rising management clients. This initiative allows them to provide focused attention while saving artists from the double fees often imposed by larger agencies. The first Select Culture office opened in Miami in June 2025, targeting the U.S. market—a region experiencing a dance music renaissance.
Bragado explains that the U.S. scene has grown dramatically, shifting away from its earlier focus solely on EDM to embrace house music and other genres. This creates ample opportunities for Prime’s artists to thrive in an evolving landscape. They’ve also expanded Select Culture into Europe, aligning with partners in Spain and other markets to promote mutual recognition among international artists.
Artist Development: A Holistic Approach
Prime Culture’s approach prioritizes artist vision and innovation. When an artist expresses interest in creating a new project, whether it’s a record label or a party, Bragado and his team are quick to provide their support. This philosophy not only strengthens the bond among artists but also fosters an environment where creativity can flourish without constraints.
Through their in-house production team, headed by Kelamo Masali, artists are supported in developing their event brands, leading to successful shows like Bibi’s One Life series and ANOTR’s No Art festival. These events not only highlight the artists’ creativity but also encourage fans to connect with them on a deeper level, far removed from a mere transactional experience.
An Eye on the Future
Bragado remains committed to a transparent and authentic approach in the industry. He believes that honest discussions lead to the best outcomes for both artists and management. “When you make choices based just on numbers, there’s a danger of losing sight of the artistic vision,” he cautions, emphasizing that true success must intertwine financial viability with creative expression.
Equally important is Bragado’s personal investment in his artists; he genuinely cares about their wellbeing and growth. This nurturing relationship allows artists like ANOTR to flourish in ways they never imagined, as they navigate the personal and professional hurdles of a career in music.
His vision for Prime Culture extends beyond mere management; he aims to create a lasting impact on the music industry by fostering a culture that promotes creativity and collaboration. With nine years of experience, Bragado’s path—rooted in friendship and shared ambition—has paved the way for a legacy marked by support and innovation in the fast-paced world of electronic music.
