Canadian DJ Heidi has shared details of a long health battle that kept her away from music for 18 months, as she prepares to return to the dancefloor.
Canadian DJ and Jackathon Jams founder Heidi has opened up about a prolonged health battle that forced her to step away from music for 18 months, sharing details in a recent statement.
In a post published on March 18, Heidi revealed she has been dealing with serious health issues for over a decade. Following a miscarriage in 2014, she was diagnosed with uterine fibroids, which caused chronic pain throughout her career. Despite this, she continued touring extensively, often prioritising work over her well-being.
By 2024, her condition had worsened significantly. Doctors discovered cancerous cells in her uterus, along with multiple fibroids, and she was also diagnosed with endometriosis. As a result, Heidi underwent a full abdominal hysterectomy, describing it as one of the most intense and painful procedures she has experienced.
After a long recovery, the artist says she is now feeling better than she has in years. She recently returned to performing at Bugged Out! Weekender in the UK and is scheduled to appear at the House Against Hate protest rave in London.
Reflecting on the experience, Heidi emphasized the role of music in her recovery, calling it “the most powerful medicine,” as she prepares to fully return to the dancefloor.
