This exciting announcement coincides with the release of a fresh Justice single, ‘Flower in a Hurricane,’ which showcases an eclectic mix with Tame Impala, SZA, and King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard. The track features prominently in the game’s newly released launch trailer, giving fans a tantalizing glimpse of the music intertwined with one of the most eagerly awaited video game releases of the year.
According to Billboard, Justice’s involvement is a pivotal musical collaboration for the GTA franchise, which has long been celebrated for its meticulously crafted soundtracks and immersive in-game radio stations.
Justice Brings Its Signature Sound to GTA VI
Formed by the dynamic duo Gaspard Augé and Xavier de Rosnay, Justice has spent nearly two decades redefining the landscape of electronic music with its distinct fusion of distorted synths, rock undertones, and cinematic production styles. Their unique sound has captivated audiences, and now they’re ready to share that creativity in the expansive realms of Grand Theft Auto.
This new venture follows the success of their 2024 album Hyperdrama, which featured standout collaborations, including the Grammy-winning track ‘Neverender.’ Bringing their distinctive musical identity to GTA feels like a natural progression for the pair.
According to Pitchfork reports, Justice’s role represents a shift from the previous arrangement where multiple artists contributed to the scores of earlier GTA titles, specifically Grand Theft Auto V. Notable contributors to the prior installment included Tangerine Dream, The Alchemist, Woody Jackson, and Oh No, with DJ Shadow also playing a role in mixing and synchronization.
While exact details surrounding Justice’s complete score are still under wraps, their involvement is undeniably a significant milestone for the renowned French electronic duo, promising an exciting new chapter in their illustrious career.
A Star-Studded Soundtrack Beyond Justice
Justice’s original score is not the only highlight of GTA VI’s ambitious musical landscape.
The forthcoming Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album promises to deliver an eclectic 34 original tracks from an array of renowned artists, including heavyweights like Travis Scott, Cardi B, Yung Lean, PinkPantheress, Fred again.., and Keith Richards.
As noted by Variety, this diverse soundtrack is being gradually introduced, whetting the appetite of fans as they await the game’s official release.
In addition to original compositions and collaborations, Rockstar is enhancing the in-game radio experience. Players can look forward to tunes from artists and hosts such as Bad Bunny, Robyn, and Lana Del Rey, further enriching the immersive quality of the game’s environment.
For enthusiasts of electronic music, Justice’s participation signals a progressive embrace of the genre within one of gaming’s most iconic franchises. While the GTA saga has always acknowledged electronic music through its vibrant radio stations, having one of the genre’s defining duos craft the original score elevates the stature of dance music in the gaming domain, making it an integral part of the player experience.
