Kander dives into his latest release, “Rules of the Dance,” and gives fans a sneak peek of what’s coming in 2026.
Kander is making an indelible mark on the UK hard techno scene, bridging the gap between underground beats and mainstream appeal. With a gritty, unique style that encapsulates the spectrum of techno, Kander’s rise to fame reflects the genre’s evolution, carving out milestones by gracing the most prestigious festival stages and signing with renowned labels like HEKATE and R-Label Group.
His latest track, “Rules of the Dance,” released under the Teletech label, is already generating significant buzz. In this track, Kander ingeniously reinterprets Mungo’s Hi-Fi’s original piece by infusing it with a powerful blend of hard bounce, schranz, and techno elements.
Mungo’s Hi-Fi profoundly influenced Kander during his formative years, making this reimagining particularly special. In an interview with EDM Identity, he shared, “I was working with all kinds of vocals, and one day, it just clicked. The inspiration hit me, and I thought, ‘Why haven’t I done this yet?’” This moment of creative clarity spurred him on to produce a track that resonates with energy and passion.
I downloaded the acapella, and I had been toying with what direction I was going to take it in. Near the end of a studio session, I had about twenty minutes before I was meeting up with a friend. In those twenty minutes, I made the kick, bass, percussion, and added the vocals. I was about 2.5 hours late to meeting my friend in the end, but I finished the track.

As part of the Teletech catalog, “Rules of the Dance” is poised to be a staple at the upcoming Teletech North American tour, where Kander is set to perform in Dallas and Austin on March 27 and 28. His excitement is palpable: “From what I’ve seen from the team, the production is going to be absolutely insane,” he noted, emphasizing the show’s anticipated grandeur.
While Kander may be newer to audiences in North America, he is no stranger to the music scene. “I’ve been able to gauge what the North American crowd wants and adapt my sets accordingly,” he mentioned. He elaborated that his Teletech performances will feature his signature high-energy style, albeit with “maybe a few more vocals” to engage the audience further.
Beyond the Teletech tour, Kander has exciting plans for the remainder of the year, including the launch of his own label, Born To Fail. Though the debut release is still in the works, Kander has a clear vision for this new venture: “The goal of the label is to create a platform that releases tangible work.” Each record will be available on vinyl, offering fans a sense of ownership and connection to the label.
When I was younger, I would go to a lot of record shops over my travels and pick up records that have influenced and shaped my sound today. Most of those records were five to ten years old. So when I release a record with Born To Fail, the idea is that it will also live on to be enjoyed, be re-discovered, and influence the next generation.

In addition to launching his label, Kander has plenty of unreleased music waiting in the wings, enough to fuel two intriguing side projects. One of these is a new musical identity dubbed Reker. This venture stems from Kander’s recent move to Berlin, which has introduced him to a fresh perspective on techno, particularly within the groove sound.
“I recently had the privilege of opening a couple of shows, which has naturally pushed me into playing some different sounds and experimenting outside of my usual peak-time set. That’s where the Reker project came from,” Kander shared. Anticipation is building as he plans to unveil his first track under this new alias later this year.
Another exciting collaboration on Kander’s agenda is with fellow techno artist Tham, resulting in their new project, THANDER. The duo, who began sharing a studio space, decided to make music together after fostering a strong friendship online. Kander describes the project as a nostalgic homage to the music they both cherished, reimagined with a modern twist.
THANDER is kind of a nod to the past and the music we both used to love but repackaged in a slightly more schranzy, modern way.
