The lineup has been announced for a major free electronic music concert on San Francisco’s waterfront next month.
The event, celebrating Om Records’ 30th anniversary, is scheduled for May 9 at Embarcadero Plaza and will feature DJs Mark Farina, Colette b2b DJ Heather, Shiny Objects and J Boogie, organizers said.
The daytime show is being produced by Outside Lands promoter Another Planet Entertainment in partnership with the San Francisco Recreation and Park Department.
City leaders have positioned the concert as part of a broader push to bring crowds back to downtown through free, large-scale events.
“From last year’s Summer of Music in Golden Gate Park to free concerts across downtown and throughout our city, San Francisco is a music city,” Mayor Daniel Lurie said in a statement. “As Om Records celebrates 30 years, this free show at Embarcadero Plaza will bring people together, supports our artists, and activates our public spaces – continuing the energy and momentum of our city’s comeback.”
A separate ticketed after-party is planned for the Great Northern in the South of Market neighborhood later that night. Organizers say the lineup there will include Derrick Carter, Mark Farina and additional artists tied to the label.
Founded in San Francisco in 1995, Om Records has released more than 800 recordings and helped shape the city’s house and electronic music scene, according to the label. The anniversary coincides with the release of a new compilation album, “Om Records – 30 Years,” featuring artists including Samantha James, Groove Armada and Kaskade.
The concert is part of the city’s SF Free Concerts series, which has drawn large crowds to downtown in recent years.
Admission is free, with organizers encouraging attendees to RSVP in advance.
