Pegasvs has released a new track titled “Can’t Get Enough” on Burnin Music Recordings. This collaboration features New Zealand-born, London-based musician Willy Delphia and showcases elements of classic 1990s house as well as deeper, jazz-influenced sounds typical of the label. The two-track release also includes a remix from Medlar.
Track Details and Variations
The original version of “Can’t Get Enough” incorporates electronic bass, repetitive chord stabs, female vocals, and synthesizers, with keyboard contributions from Willy Delphia. In contrast, Medlar’s remix offers a more rhythm-driven interpretation, shifting from the conventional arrangement of the original to provide DJs with alternative options for performance.
Physical Edition Release Insights
In conjunction with the digital release on October 23, the physical edition includes a strictly limited run of 50 individually lathe-cut, transparent red 10-inch records. Each copy is hand-stamped and features unique artwork created by Cerri Studio, marking a distinctive approach for Burnin Music Recordings.
The physical record is priced at £25 on Bandcamp, while the digital version is available for £4 in standard download formats, including high-resolution files. This production choice is a strategic move for independent labels, allowing them to issue small quantities without the commitment to larger pressing runs.
Innovative Approaches in Vinyl Production
The lathe-cutting method differs from traditional vinyl production by cutting audio directly into the record, accommodating smaller releases. This allows labels like Burnin Music to produce physical records for individual tracks instead of needing to generate a larger EP or album to justify pressing costs.
This unique release method underscores how independent labels continue to navigate the challenges of vinyl production while catering to their specialized audiences. The limited edition also features a digital format, ensuring wider accessibility to the music for listeners who may not own a turntable.
“Can’t Get Enough” is available now on Burnin Music Recordings in digital format and as a limited transparent red 10-inch dubplate through Pegasvs’ Bandcamp.
