High above sea level, nestled within the breathtaking landscapes of Nepal’s Annapurna Circuit, Chrispin has embarked on a groundbreaking artistic endeavor. He recently unveiled a live electronic set, not from a conventional DJ booth, but at an impressive altitude of 15,000 feet. This innovative project has been reimagined as a cinematic short film, marrying music, storytelling, and the raw beauty of nature into an immersive viewing experience unlike any other.
Spanning nine months of dedication and creativity, Chrispin’s project draws from years of original productions and remixes. In an exclusive conversation with EDMHouseNetwork, he discussed the inspiration fueling this ambitious concept, the hurdles encountered during production, and how this mountain-top performance is signaling a new chapter in his artistic journey.
Excitement and Nervous Anticipation
When asked about his feelings surrounding the release of this project, Chrispin expressed a mix of enthusiasm and apprehension. “I’m really excited and kinda nervous,” he revealed. “This is a culmination of all the foundational phases of my work. It’s about destiny and the sacrifices we make for the things we love.” This strong emotional core serves as a thematic backbone for the film, providing viewers with a journey that resonates on various levels.
A Unique Concept and Overcoming Challenges
Chrispin’s innovative approach sets him apart within the electronic music scene. “Before coming up with something this specific, it was about how I can use the music I’ve made over the years in a meaningful way,” he shared. The cinematic aspect emerged organically, reflecting his passion for both music and storytelling.
But the path to realization was fraught with difficulties; Chrispin spent painstaking months fine-tuning edits and constructing the narrative, often adjusting the storyline as the project evolved. “The actual shoot itself was very challenging as it was just me and my friend trekking and carrying all the gear amidst intense weather,” he noted. His gratitude for the majestic Himalayas was palpable, as he acknowledged that the magnificent location was instrumental in bringing his vision to fruition.
Crafting the Final Product
Reflecting on the final product, Chrispin expressed satisfaction mixed with a desire for more. “I could have always changed and added more things,” he admitted, “but I think I stopped when I was happy with the quantity of narrative layers I managed to squeeze in.” He noted the initial misunderstanding of the project; while some viewed it as merely a set, the cinematic depth was slowly being unveiled by those who engaged with it on multiple levels. “I am really proud of what the project is,” he said, highlighting the fulfillment derived from blending these artistic elements.
A Memorable Theater Experience
Chrispin took a personal route by previewing the film in a theater, a decision remarkably meaningful for him. “It was definitely a move that left me hungry for more,” he shared. Seeing his hard work on the big screen not only reaffirmed his future artistic ventures but also ignited a renewed passion within him.

Challenging Comfort Zones
For Chrispin, stepping outside his comfort zone is paramount. “It is definitely important,” he said, “but that completely disappeared when making the project. It was made out of pure love for the craft.” With a curious mindset, he embraces challenges that keep his artistry fresh. The fusion of his passions allowed him to push boundaries and grow as an artist.
Blending Musical Elements and Styles
The integration of various elements, sounds, and genres was crucial to Chrispin’s artistic vision. He described how each musical layer was interwoven with the film’s narrative, forcing him to make difficult choices along the way. “I crafted the whole film aspect on top of the musical layer of the set,” he explained, illustrating the complex balance between music and visuals. This intricate crafting process involved weeks of painstaking edits, demonstrating a commitment to authenticity and cohesion.

Future Projects on the Horizon
Looking ahead, Chrispin is already in the midst of new endeavors. “I am finishing up an album that has long been due and am developing several other things on the side,” he shared enthusiastically. While his debut single “Zephyr” is due out soon, he emphasizes that remaining passionate about his creative work is key to any future projects. “When an opportunity or a major idea reveals itself, the pieces tend to fall perfectly into place,” he noted, hinting at the surprises yet to come in his artistic journey.
