Head Trip: A Unique Electronic Music Gathering in the California Desert
The California desert is set to become a vibrant hub of electronic music this fall with the inaugural Head Trip festival, hosted by the renowned promoter Goldenvoice. Taking place on October 10-11, 2026, at the iconic Empire Polo Club, this one-time-only event promises an extraordinary lineup and an immersive experience for festivalgoers.
Registration and Ticket Sales
For those eager to attend, registration for passes is now available at HEADTRIPINDIO.COM. General ticket sales will launch on March 13 at 11 AM PT, giving fans plenty of time to secure their spot in what is anticipated to be a landmark event in the dance music calendar.
A Focused Festival Experience
What sets Head Trip apart from other sprawling music festivals is its concentrated approach. Unlike many festivals that offer multiple stages and overlapping sets, Head Trip is designed for an immersive experience on a single stage. This unique layout allows attendees to catch every performance, ensuring that no one misses out on their favorite artists.
Star-Studded Lineup
The lineup is nothing short of spectacular, with some of the biggest names in global dance music. On Saturday, October 10, festivalgoers can look forward to performances by superstar producer Calvin Harris, along with the much-anticipated back-to-back set from Fisher and Chris Lake under their collaborative project, Under Construction. Joining them are Peggy Gou B2B with Four Tet, and underground favorites Seth Troxler B2B Ben Sterling.
As the festival progresses to Sunday, the momentum continues with headliners Swedish House Mafia and bass innovator Skrillex. Adding to the excitement are the powerhouse duo Dom Dolla and Kettama, alongside eclectic dance icons The Blessed Madonna and DJ Harvey, creating a rich tapestry of audio experiences that cater to all dance music lovers.
Innovative Sound Design
A major highlight of Head Trip will be the U.S. debut of the Sunflower Sound System, an innovative audio installation created by Floating Points. Nestled within a dome tent, this ambitious system features custom acoustically treated panels made from mycelium and intricate tapestries designed by DJ and artist Josephine Chime. With ten unique speaker stacks deliberately arranged to create a deeply immersive listening experience, it’s a must-visit destination for audiophiles. Throughout the weekend, Floating Points and a lineup of special guests will grace the stage, further enriching the auditory experience for attendees.
Visual Production Excellence
Head Trip’s production is being spearheaded by Romain Pissenem, the founder of the creative production company High Scream. Known for creating some of the most visually stunning stages in electronic music, Pissenem’s work is expected to elevate the festival experience, ensuring breathtaking visuals accompany the eclectic soundtrack.
Festival Logistics
Head Trip will be an 18+ event, with doors opening at 3 PM on both days. To ease access, free parking will commence at 1 PM, and attendees can also purchase car camping and shuttle passes for convenience. Official hotel packages bundling festival passes with local accommodations are already available, and details about exciting “Befores and Afters” events will be announced soon, offering additional opportunities for attendees to engage with the festival spirit.
A New Pulse in the Desert
With its stellar lineup, immersive sound design, and a streamlined one-stage concept, Head Trip is poised to be one of the most intriguing electronic music gatherings of 2026. If the California desert has a heartbeat this fall, it will undoubtedly be felt in Indio, drawing music lovers from every corner to celebrate the vibrant culture of electronic dance music.
