An EDM “festival-themed” reality dating show set in Denver, Colorado has sent out a casting call for contestants.
According to the show’s website, 16 “wooks seeking love, connection and their forever festival partner” will take part in the12-episode series created by local tattoo artist LaRue Allegretto. Viewers will follow them “as they navigate music, community, and love through shared chaos and creativity”.
Inspired by Colorado’s EDM festival scene and the “wook” subculture, the show will reportedly feature “whacky” festival-based activities and challenges like car camping, “flow art choreography”, “hula-hooping” and “stagehand scrambles”, according to EDM.com.
The cast will reportedly live together on a ranch, which is described as the Colorado version of the Love Island villa. As stated on its website, Wooking For Love — which is slated to air sometime in late 2026 or early 2027 — is open to contestants of all “identities, sexual orientations and relationship styles.”
“Wook has a pretty variable definition,” Allegretto told The Denver Post. “Some people definitely use it derogatorily and some people use it endearingly. We’re looking at the broadest definition of ‘wook’ in that you’re involved in festival culture; it’s an important part of your life. You work, you play, you live in the music and the community, and ultimately what you’re looking to get out of life is that richness of connection and experience.”
As the show’s website describes the intended tone as “playful, cinematic, and deeply human”. “It speaks to the same crowd that fills Red Rocks, Nova Studios, and late-night renegades across Colorado. The humour is self-aware but affectionate: it laughs with the culture, not at it.”
According to Allegreto, 675 people have already applied to get involved.
