A Historic Venue with Future Uncertainty
The inaugural Nocturnal Wonderland took place in 1995, organized by Insomniac’s founder, Pasquale Rotella. This festival, alongside the renowned Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC), has become synonymous with the vibrant culture of electronic music festivals. The 2019 edition will take place on September 14th and 15th at the Glen Helen Amphitheater located in beautiful San Bernardino, California.
However, this year may mark a significant transition for Nocturnal Wonderland. Due to new sound ordinances at the amphitheater, the festival will need to conclude music by midnight. This development has prompted Rotella to explore alternative locations for future events but emphasizes the need for a “proper send-off” at the current venue.
Adjustments for a Unique Experience
Given the new regulations, this year’s Nocturnal Wonderland will kick off at 3 PM, starting two hours earlier than previous installments. While the music will pause at midnight, attendees can still enjoy the festival’s vibrant atmosphere with two silent discos running into the early hours. In addition, the festival has expanded its campgrounds, adding three new stages and art installations—an effort to enhance the experience for attendees.
