MXGPU Present ‘Live Over Porto’: A Revolutionary 360° Experience
Introduction: An Unprecedented Performance
The boundaries of live music are continuously pushed, and MXGPU, the innovative collaboration between Portuguese artists Moullinex and GPU Panic, has brought a fresh perspective to this landscape. Their latest release, ‘Live Over Porto’, showcases a breathtaking 360° live show, recorded during their extraordinary performance at the renowned Primavera Sound Porto festival in June 2026. Suspended high above the dancefloor, this performance offers not just music, but an immersive experience that invites the audience to engage with the art on multiple levels.
The Artistic Vision Behind MXGPU
MXGPU diverges from traditional performance setups. Consciously rejecting the separation of artist and audience, the duo performs hovering above the crowd, enveloping the festival-goers in sound, light, and movement. Their unique 360° format transforms the entire venue into a staging ground, allowing the audience to be at the center of the spectacle. By utilizing a crane to perform 30 meters above the dancefloor, MXGPU has created a visually stunning and sonically rich environment that embodies the festival’s lively spirit.
This ambitious performance builds upon the duo’s earlier project, ‘Live Over Lisbon’, which took place over the Tagus River in 2025. With ‘Live Over Porto’, MXGPU takes their signature triangular performance structure to new heights—literally—by closing the main stage at Primavera Sound with their innovative approach.
The Experience of ‘Live Over Porto’
MXGPU describes their experience as ground-breaking and exhilarating. “One year after flying over the river, we built it above the dancefloor,” they shared. The performance is intricately designed, wrapping the space in light specifically crafted for this moment. The visuals, coupled with the dynamic movement around the audiences, create an up-close interaction that transcends the typical concert experience. The duo’s ability to see the crowd from above while performing offers a captivating perspective that resonates with both the performers and the audience.
Engaging the Audience Through Immersive Experience
At the core of the MXGPU project lies the ethos of shared experience. Their performances highlight how music, visuals, and physical space can harmoniously coexist. By removing the conventional stage-audience barrier, the artists invite everyone to immerse themselves fully in the performance. This approach fosters a sense of community and collective energy, as attendees can choose how they engage with the show—experiencing it from varying vantage points around the venue.
Upcoming Events: ‘Live Under Lisbon’ and ‘Gardens of Babylon’
Building on the momentum from ‘Live Over Porto’, MXGPU is set to explore new environments with two exciting upcoming events. The first, ‘Live Under Lisbon’, is scheduled for October 10 at Hidden Metro Olaias. This underground venue will transform into a vibrant club atmosphere for over eight hours, featuring performances from artists such as Adriana Ruas, Isadora, Madd Rod, and Sainte Vie. MXGPU will once again leverage their talent for spatial sound and visual design to create an unforgettable underground experience, immersing attendees in the depths of Lisbon’s infrastructure.
Following this, on October 25, MXGPU will bring their stunning 360° live show to the Gardens of Babylon’s ‘The Seekers of Light’ showcase at WestWeelde in Amsterdam during the Amsterdam Dance Event. This annual event unites electronic music and art, creating a multi-faceted experience aimed at fostering community connection. By incorporating their triangular structure and audience-surrounding format, MXGPU seeks to redefine the festival landscape once again, this time in one of Europe’s most vibrant music capitals.
A New Frontier in Live Electronic Experience
MXGPU’s ‘Live Over Porto’ is more than just a performance; it is an exploration of spaces and a redefinition of how live music can be experienced. By blending technology, artistry, and immersive environments, they are pioneering a new wave of electronic music that blurs the lines between artist and audience. This fresh take invites us all to reimagine what a concert can be, encouraging deeper connection and interaction with the music we love.
Through their innovative approach, MXGPU is establishing a legacy in the electronic music scene, one performance at a time. With their sights set on expanding into unconventional locations, it’s clear that this duo is paving the way for an exciting future in live music experiences.
