The excitement in San Diego is palpable as the PROPER NYE/NYD festival gears up for its highly anticipated return. Since its initial launch at Petco Park in 2022, this two-day extravaganza has become an integral part of the city’s New Year celebrations, seamlessly blending the party atmosphere of New Year’s Eve with the reflective vibes of New Year’s Day. This year, the festival will take place on December 31 and January 1, showcasing a stellar lineup that includes electronic music staples like FISHER, Kaskade, Four Tet B2B Tiga, Ship Wrek, Dombresky, San Pacho, and Novah.
Phase Two Expands The Lineup Across House And Techno
As excitement builds, the festival organizers have dropped an impressive Phase Two lineup that further enhances its musical diversity. Newcomers FISHER, Dombresky, Ship Wrek, and San Pacho contribute to a vibrant house scene, infusing energy and rhythm into the festival grounds. On the techno front, Novah complements an already formidable lineup, which previously included heavyweights known for their harder sounds.
One of the standout collaborations this year is Four Tet B2B Tiga, a dynamic pairing that merges the distinct histories and styles of these two celebrated artists. This collaboration is particularly noteworthy as it highlights the experimental edge of electronic music. Additionally, fans can look forward to another exciting B2B performance featuring Cloonee B2B KETTAMA B2B Josh Baker, ensuring a diverse range of sounds across both days.
Phase One Had Already Covered Several Sides Of Electronic Music
Prior to the Phase Two announcement, the festival’s first phase had already set the groundwork with a robust mix of artists. Lane 8 and Cassian brought their melodic sounds, which stand in stark contrast to the hard-hitting techno vibe introduced by artists like Sara Landry, I Hate Models, Klangkuenstler, and Nico Moreno. The house spectrum was also well-represented with Chris Lorenzo, SIDEPIECE, Beltran, and Ben Sterling making impressive contributions.
Now, with the newly revealed names like FISHER and Kaskade joining the lineup, festival-goers can expect an even broader representation of electronic music genres. This depth not only reinforces what PROPER NYE/NYD has cultivated but also promises a weekend rich with variety. The festival continues to strike the perfect balance between large-scale headliners and underground club-focused talents, creating an eclectic atmosphere for all attendees.
PROPER NYE/NYD Continues Its Run At Petco Park
FNGRS CRSSD first debuted PROPER NYE/NYD at Petco Park at the close of 2022, enhancing San Diego’s festival scene beyond the well-known CRSSD Festival. The event’s continued residency at this iconic downtown venue highlights its growing popularity and the city’s vibrant electronic music culture. This year follows the established format of offering a two-day celebration filled with multi-stage performances centered on house, techno, and other electronic styles.
As excitement mounts with both phases of the lineup announced, PROPER NYE/NYD is ready to ring in 2026 at Petco Park before transitioning into 2027. Those eager to join in the festivities can find tickets and further information here.
