VirtualDJ has launched significant updates aimed at enhancing the DJ experience with personalized features tailored for live performances. The updates include a rich set of new tools to create more engaging sets, all designed with the use of advanced AI technologies.
Innovative Personalized Features
Among the standout features is the new functionality for personalized drops, live edits, and announcements. This allows DJs to seamlessly incorporate names and announcements into tracks, making it ideal for private events and performances at clubs.
Introduction of Vibescripting
Another key addition is vibescripting, a feature that simplifies the scripting process in VirtualDJ. DJs can now describe their desired control changes in plain language, eliminating the need to understand the traditional scripting language previously required.
Comprehensive Updates for 2026
This marks the third significant update of the year, introducing several innovative features. The list includes:
Display of lyrics alongside waveforms for easier timing of transitions and wordplay.
Karaoke mode that utilizes speech-to-text technology to pull lyrics from any track.
A robust AI search function, allowing users to describe a track and receive tailored suggestions.
Integration of AILoops and Shaders for generating video loops and visualizations from user prompts.
Enhanced beat stabilization for tracks with variable BPMs.
A new effects engine featuring over 120 effects for creative mixing.
These updates also bring notable performance enhancements and compatibility with new DJ controllers and streaming platforms, including the recent launch of Apple Music support.
Licensing Information
The latest updates from VirtualDJ are accessible immediately. To utilize the new AI features, users must have a paid license. VirtualDJ Pro is available for a subscription of $19 per month or $199 annually, while a $4 monthly Home plan is restricted to entry-level controllers and not suitable for paid events. Older Infinity licenses do not encompass these latest AI advancements.
