Regarded by many as the pinnacle of outdoor music venues, the Gorge Amphitheatre stands majestically overlooking the Columbia River Gorge in George, Washington. This site, blessed with breathtaking scenery, hosts a wide range of concerts each year, but this season, electronic dance music (EDM) takes center stage. As the sun returns to Washington, the Gorge is set to transform into an oasis for EDM enthusiasts.
This year’s lineup kicks off with a highly anticipated performance by Martin Garrix on May 9. Known for his electric energy and chart-topping hits, the Dutch DJ has carved out a prominent place in the global EDM landscape, and his stop at the Gorge will surely draw a substantial crowd eager to experience his progressive house sound.
A mere two weeks after Garrix’s performance, the amphitheatre will host the second installation of the exciting Griztronics festival on May 23 & 24. Headlined by the dynamic duo GRiZ and Subtronics, fans can expect a two-day celebration of bass music featuring a star-studded lineup that includes Of The Trees, LSDREAM, Boogie T, and ALLEYCVT. This festival is bound to be a highlight for bass lovers, embracing the funk-infused bass that defines both headliners’ unique styles.
Festivals Take Over the Gorge Amphitheatre
Fast forward to early June, the mesmerizing sounds of RÜFÜS DU SOL will fill the air on June 5 & 6. Known for their emotive melodies and immersive live performances, this indie melodic-techno trio has already sold out tickets on Ticketmaster, although resale options may still be available for those hoping to catch them in action at the Gorge.
As summer heats up, perhaps one of the most eagerly awaited EDM festivals, Beyond Wonderland, is set to take the stage on June 27 & 28. This event promises to be packed with house music sensations, featuring headliners like Kaskade, Fisher, Seven Lions, and Rezz. Additional acts such as Liquid Stranger, Wooli, SIDEPIECE, Black Tiger Sex Machine, and Matroda will also be on hand to deliver unforgettable performances, further solidifying the Gorge’s reputation as a premier event location.
The summer festivities continue with Bass Canyon, taking place from August 14-16. Curated by heavyweight Excision, this dubstep and bass festival will feature an impressive roster, including Illenium, Svdden Death, Sullivan King, NGHTMRE, and Ganja White Night. Festival-goers can expect a powerful bass experience that spotlights the genre’s best and brightest.
Rounding off the Gorge’s electronic music offerings for the year is ABGT700, the much-anticipated Group Therapy 700 weekend hosted by the famed trance trio Above & Beyond, set for September 12 & 13. This event not only celebrates their exhilarating radio show, “Group Therapy,” but also showcases various artists from the Anjunabeats label, promising an unforgettable experience for fans. The event’s first artist announcement reveals Ben Böhmer, who will close out the Anjunadeep Open Air on Sunday, September 13.
John Summit’s October Show Leaked?
While ABGT700 marks the last confirmed event at the Gorge for the year, whispers in the crowd suggest that house music phenomenon John Summit may return for a two-day show on October 2 & 3. Although tickets are currently listed on Vivid Seats, the event has not been officially confirmed, leading to speculation that the announcement may have leaked ahead of schedule. A non-functional Ticketmaster link appears to have fueled this speculation further.
Fans reminisce about Summit’s exceptional “Everything Always” show at the Gorge last year, where he shared the stage with fellow house talent Dom Dolla, making it an unforgettable experience. As the party vibes continue and the summer unfolds, more updates regarding shows and ticket prices can be found on the Gorge Amphitheatre’s website.
