In the world of electronic music, few artists evoke as much respect and nostalgia as Josh Wink. As he rides a wave of renewed popularity and support from heavyweight DJs in 2026, Wink is set to unveil a release that deeply resonates with his roots: “Let Yourself Go On.” This track serves as Volume 2 in his acclaimed 607 Sessions series, coming out on Ovum Recordings.
The timing of this release couldn’t be more significant. Recent buzz around the dance music scene has been invigorated by Marco Faraone’s rework of Wink’s iconic track, “I’m Ready.” This reimagining has just broken into the Beatport Peak Time Techno Top 10, reinforcing Wink’s enduring influence on contemporary dance floors. Concurrently, the forthcoming Ovum single “Let Yourself Go” (OVM337, set for release on March 6) is already enjoying exceptional early support from a diverse range of DJs around the globe, bridging the gaps between house and techno.
Among those championing Wink’s new material are some of the industry’s top talents. Artists like Nicole Moudaber, Tania Vulcano from Circoloco, and Laurent Garnier, alongside Jamie Jones, Joseph Capriati, and Chris Liebing, are just a few of the prominent figures endorsing his work. This robust backing highlights Wink’s unique ability to resonate with both emerging and established names in the electronic music community, demonstrating a rare cross-generational appeal.
But beyond the technicalities of production and DJ support, “Let Yourself Go On” weaves a rich narrative infused with personal significance. Originally crafted between 1993 and 1994, the track showcases Wink’s experimental essence, steeped in the wild-pitch culture that characterized the underground dance scene during its formative years. With hypnotic vocal manipulation at its core, the track builds into a slow-burn crescendo that’s both raw and avant-garde, a hallmark of Wink’s instinctive artistry.
After long being rumored and frequently requested, this track was believed to be lost in time—until Wink stumbled upon the original DAT tape while clearing out a storage unit. What followed was a meticulous remastering process by Arnold at CALYX Mastering, which preserved the track’s original grit while adding the clarity and power essential for today’s modern sound systems. The outcome is a testament to the timeless nature of innovation, proving that great ideas truly don’t fade away.
Initially hesitant to release the track formally, Wink sought the opinion of his long-time friend Carl Cox. After sharing it privately, Cox propelled the track into the spotlight, making it a standout ID in his UNVRS nights and a defining anthem throughout last season’s influential residencies. While the track gained recognition on dance floors worldwide, it has yet to receive an official release—until now.
Set to debut on March 6 via Ovum Recordings, “Let Yourself Go On” represents a striking connection between the past and the present. It serves as both a rediscovered experiment from the ’90s and a fresh offering from an artist who is currently charting again, garnering global DJ backing while proving that foundational artistry continues to impact today’s evolving soundscape.
