The Justice GTA VI score album is set for release in both a 2xCD and 3xLP format, featuring a limited crystal clear vinyl edition as well as a standard black option. The album comprises 30 tracks, alongside several bonus digital tracks, creating a three-hour musical suite inspired by the game. Pre-orders and pre-saves are currently available online.
Collaboration with Rockstar Games
Justice, comprised of Gaspard Augé and Xavier de Rosnay, collaborated closely with Rockstar Games to synchronize the music with the gameplay and story arcs of the characters, Jason and Lucia. The score has been designed to dynamically interact with in-game events, reflecting players’ various interactions within the game’s world, Leonida.
Diverse Musical Exploration
According to de Rosnay, the extensive geographical and thematic scope of the game necessitated a broad range of musical emotions, genres, and textures. The duo was given creative freedom to explore diverse musical elements, ensuring that the score aligned seamlessly with the game’s narrative.
Recent Previews and Collaborations
The album follows two key previews that introduced Justice as the score composers. One notable track, “Flower in a Hurricane,” featured collaborations with Tame Impala, SZA, and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, marking the duo’s first song to appear on the Billboard Hot 100. Another preview titled “Pusher” showcased their first collaboration with Gesaffelstein, highlighting the instrumental aspects of the score.
Upcoming Performances and Release Date
This album signifies Justice’s major project following their Hyperdrama era, which earned them a GRAMMY for Best Electronic Recording. Before the album’s release, the duo is scheduled to perform a DJ set in Mexico City on December 5. Grand Theft Auto VI is set to launch on November 19 for both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
