During Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE), the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra delivered a captivating performance of a classic symphony at the Centrale Markthal, under the direction of Riccardo Minasi. The event showcased a unique blend of classical music, art, and innovative technology, enhanced by Boris Acket’s striking fabric installations.
Innovative Art Installations
Opened at the Centrale Markthal, the installation titled EINDER—meaning “horizon” in Dutch—features two enormous fabrics that undulate with the airflow created by motors. These dynamic fabrics shift in form and color, mirroring the transition of light from dawn through dusk, creating an immersive experience for attendees.
Soundscape by Djrum
The exhibition’s soundscape was crafted by British producer Djrum, utilizing a spatial sound system that harmonizes with the movement of the fabric. This immersive audio experience added depth to the visual display, engaging audiences in a multisensory journey.
Special Events and Collaborations
The Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra’s performance was part of a program that included multiple events designed to enrich the EINDER experience. This line-up featured choreographer Kianí del Valle, as well as performances by artists Elias Mazian and Joep Beving.
