Bucharest is preparing to transform one of the world’s largest buildings into a spectacular open-air stage for electronic music as iMapp Bucharest 2026 takes over Constitution Square on September 19 and 20.
For its 11th edition, iMapp will bring two major international electronic acts to the façade of the Palace of Parliament, with Rudimental performing on Saturday, September 19, followed by WhoMadeWho on Sunday, September 20.
The landmark building will provide the backdrop for an enormous international video mapping show, with approximately 23,000 square meters of projection surface turning the Palace of Parliament into a giant canvas for music and visual art.
Rudimental – Saturday, September 19
London-based group Rudimental will kick off the musical programme on Saturday, bringing their distinctive blend of drum & bass, soulful vocals, and live instrumentation to Constitution Square.
The group’s sound has played a major role in propelling drum & bass into the global mainstream, becoming widely known for tracks such as “Feel the Love,” “Waiting All Night,” “These Days,” and “Not Giving In.” Their iMapp performance is designed for a festival audience, promising an electrifying combination of heavy beats, powerful vocals, and live musical elements, all set against the impressive backdrop of the Palace of Parliament and the inspiring projections from the Winners League.
WhoMadeWho – Sunday, September 20
On Sunday, the stage will be taken over by Danish trio WhoMadeWho, who will present their innovative Hybrid DJ Set, a unique format that harmoniously blends aspects of a club performance, festival set, and live concert.
This group is acclaimed for their ability to fuse electronic production with live instruments and vocals, creating a dynamic experience that bridges their identity as a band with the infectious energy of DJ performances. Following a successful series of shows in Ibiza, the Bucharest set promises to be a captivating experience, set in one of Europe’s most striking urban landscapes.
The Winners League: Seven Artists Transform the Palace of Parliament
At the heart of iMapp Bucharest 2026 lies the Winners League, a celebrated international video mapping competition that showcases seven artists and studios hailing from various corners of the world. These artists are the winners from numerous partner festivals located in key countries such as Hungary, Japan, Germany, France, China, the United States, and Brazil.
With their creative works projected onto the monumental Palace of Parliament, this year’s event features a staggering approximately 23,000 square meters of projection surface, one of the largest in the world. The overarching theme of “PAST. FORWARD.” invites artists to explore and reflect on concepts related to architecture, memory, and time, resulting in an awe-inspiring visual spectacle.
A particularly poignant moment during the event will celebrate Romanian gymnastics legend Nadia Comăneci, honoring the 50th anniversary of her historic perfect score at the Olympics, marking yet another layer of significance to this year’s festival.
