Sónar has revealed the first 30 names for its 2027 lineup, announcing the return of Sónar by Day to the central locations in Barcelona. The festival, renowned for its daytime showcases and nighttime events, aims to reconnect with its foundational identity as it shifts focus to a genre-agnostic and forward-thinking experience.
Eclectic Lineup of Performers
The event’s live program showcases a diverse array of artists, including Bonobo, Tokischa, Yung Lean, Jessie Ware, Frost Children, and Cornelius. On the DJ front, the notable return of Carl Cox to Sónar comes after nearly two decades, adding to the excitement of the lineup, which also features Peggy Gou, KI/KI, Romy, Job Jobse, and Honey Dijon, the latter presenting her Sinister party concept.
Busy P Back-to-Back with Girl Ultra
The initial lineup continues with performances from SALOME, Busy P collaborating with Girl Ultra, Aurora Halal, Donato Dozzy alongside Batu, Tash LC, Ehua & Flore, Goldie live, Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith, and TK MAMI or Opal Sunn. Additional names will be announced over time as the festival prepares its complete roster.
Reconnecting with Urban Energy
A significant change for 2027 is the return of Sónar by Day to the core of Barcelona. Previously, the daytime programming took place at Fira Montjuïc, but this shift back into the city center is seen as a way to revive the urban energy that marked Sónar’s early years. This move reflects a desire to maintain a connection with the festival’s roots while continuing to grow as a prominent player on the European festival scene.
Having established its reputation over more than two decades for blending club-oriented lineups with experimental art and technology showcases, Sónar continues to blur the boundaries between various artistic expressions. The initial wave of artists for the 2027 edition exemplifies this approach, featuring both techno icons and pop-infused talents.
