LBCC Unveils New Campus Icon at Trades, Technology, and Community Learning Campus
A Celebration of Community
On a sunny day filled with anticipation and excitement, Long Beach City College (LBCC) marked a significant development with the unveiling of a new campus icon sign at the Trades, Technology, and Community Learning Campus (TTC). Students, faculty, and college leadership gathered to celebrate the reveal of this eye-catching addition, a moment that underscores the college’s commitment to enriching the student experience and enhancing community engagement.
The Design of the New Sign
The centerpiece of this unveiling is, without a doubt, the striking new sign featuring the letters “I ♥️ LB,” which stands for “I Love Long Beach.” With the “I” and “LB” boldly displayed in bright white coupled with a vibrant red heart, the design instantly draws attention and evokes a sense of pride among students and faculty alike. The incorporation of LBCC’s recognizable “LB” logo reinforces the college’s brand identity while also emphasizing a welcoming atmosphere. This bold design not only serves as a visual beacon but also symbolizes LBCC’s ongoing mission to cultivate a sense of belonging among its diverse student body.
An Iconic Presence
Strategically positioned on the south side of the TTC campus, the new sign is not only a decorative feature but also a functional visual landmark. Its location makes it visible from the bustling Pacific Coast Highway, ensuring that it will be noticed by students, employees, and visitors alike. This prominent placement allows the sign to serve as a welcoming gateway to campus life—a point where identity, pride, and community converge.
LBCC anticipates that the sign will not only add aesthetic value but will become a focal point for campus events, celebrations, and gatherings. With its potential to act as a backdrop for photo opportunities and school spirit, the sign promises to be woven into the fabric of student life for years to come.
Building Community Pride
This unveiling is part of a broader initiative to enhance LBCC’s visibility and foster a sense of community pride. The first campus icon, revealed at the Liberal Arts Campus in December 2025, serves as a precursor to this latest addition. Together, these iconic signs stand as signature landmarks for both LBCC campuses, symbolizing the unified spirit and commitment to excellence that the institution embodies. This initiative aims not only to enhance the college’s external visibility but also to create a more cohesive and engaging environment for current and prospective students.
