Celebrating Miami’s Vibrant Running Culture
On March 1, 2026, Miami transformed into a dynamic hub of energy and enthusiasm as the Life Time 305 Half Marathon & 5K, presented by Baptist Health, welcomed a record-breaking 4,500 runners. This annual event, now in its 16th year, celebrated its largest-ever turnout, underscoring Miami’s growing reputation as a global running destination.
The Diversity of Participants
Runners from 37 states and 36 countries descended upon the city, each participant drawn not only by the competitive spirit but also by the vibrant local atmosphere. Local Champions Shine
Local runners Caroline Lefrak and Alexander Beach emerged victorious in the women’s and men’s Half Marathon categories, clocking impressive times of 1:23:00 and 1:12:38 respectively. Finish Festival Extravaganza
Post-race festivities at the Finish Festival were lively, showcasing Life Time’s commitment to a holistic approach to healthy entertainment. Participants enjoyed live music from dueling DJs, relaxed with cold plunges, and engaged in various activities, including games and a beer garden. A unique touch this year was the introduction of a finisher medal ribbon designed by Miami artist Vic Garcia, alongside a limited-edition line of official 305 merchandise. This artistic collaboration reinforces the deep-rooted connection between the event and local culture.
Community Focus and Future Growth
Life Time’s Chief Running Officer, Frankie Ruiz, expressed excitement over the tremendous turnout, emphasizing the event’s role in fostering both local and global enthusiasm for running. As Life Time expands its footprint across Florida—currently operating six athletic country clubs with plans for three more by 2027—the organization is dedicated to engaging with the community year-round. This not only enhances the local running scene but also nurtures an active, vibrant lifestyle.
The Baptist Health Pineapple Race Series, of which this race is a part, offers runners the opportunity to challenge themselves across multiple events. Completing the 305 Half Marathon & 5K marks two of the three races, with the final event scheduled for the Life Time Turkey Trot Miami on Thanksgiving Day, November 26, 2026.
