Boards of Canada have announced a global series of listening sessions for their upcoming album Inferno, set to take place on May 22—one week ahead of its official release via Warp on May 29. The highly anticipated events will unfold simultaneously across seven major cities: Tokyo, Berlin, Barcelona, London, Glasgow, New York and Los Angeles.
This exclusive early listening experience gives fans worldwide the rare opportunity to hear the full Inferno album before release day. Tickets go on sale May 1, with pre-sale registration already open. Given Boards of Canada’s cult following and rare release schedule, demand is expected to be extremely high.
Inferno marks the duo’s first studio album in 13 years, following 2013’s Tomorrow’s Harvest. The Scottish electronic pioneers—Mike Sandison and Marcus Eoin—confirmed the project after a cryptic month-long teaser campaign that included viral posters, загадne visuals and the surprise drop of “Tape 05.”
The 18-track album will be available on red translucent double vinyl, alongside standard LP, CD and digital formats. Notably, the vinyl edition includes a 16-page booklet featuring the duo’s signature visual aesthetic.
Global listening events continue a growing trend in music marketing, blending immersive fan experiences with strategic album rollouts.
