Piknik returns on May 16 with its biggest project so far — a full day and night takeover stretching from Britanac to Katran through four stages and fourteen hours of music.
Under the name Piknik pres. Britanac Takeover Day and Night w/ Sepp & Nu Zau, the concept transforms several iconic Zagreb locations into one connected electronic music experience that evolves naturally from daytime social gathering into deep late-night club energy.
At the center of the event are Sepp and Nu Zau, long-time Sunwaves favourites and one of the most respected duos in the European minimal and underground house scene. Known for extended sets built around groove, patience and subtle emotional progression, the Romanian artists avoid quick effects and obvious peak moments in favour of continuity and atmosphere.
For this edition, they take over the main floor of Katran with a special seven-hour all day long set designed to unfold gradually throughout the night.
Joining them are Branko Vuković and Petar P., one of the region’s most active underground duos currently operating between Montenegro and Serbia. Their approach focuses on deep dancefloor flow and carefully selected tracks rather than crowd-pleasing shortcuts, making them a natural fit for the wider Piknik philosophy.
As the evening expands, the takeover spreads through Katran, Regular and T.C. Ro&Do, while Vazdaisti, Kobali, Ian Staraj, Muhar, Francescu and IGZ each shape their own spaces and atmospheres across the event.
Rather than functioning like a standard club night, Piknik Britanac Takeover is designed as a moving experience connected through the city itself. Britanac becomes the daytime meeting point, gathering people outdoors before the energy slowly transitions into Katran and the surrounding venues later in the evening.
The focus is less on spectacle and more on rhythm, movement and collective atmosphere.
That approach has become central to Piknik’s identity over recent years. Instead of short festival-style programming, the project continues creating longer and more immersive formats where music develops patiently through time, space and interaction between artists and crowd.
The combination of outdoor daytime energy, underground club culture and carefully curated lineups makes this one of the more distinctive electronic music concepts currently happening in Zagreb.
Tickets are limited, and interest around the event is already growing quickly.
On May 16, Piknik turns Britanac and Katran into a city-wide dancefloor built for people who prefer the journey over the shortcut.
