Close to 50,000 passionate dance music fans are set to transform Surrey’s Holland Park into a colossal block party on July 3-4 for the 2026 edition of FVDED in the Park. This annual electronic dance music (EDM) festival is set to be the largest yet, with an impressive lineup of nearly 60 artists and DJs tantalizing music lovers over two vibrant days.
Expanding Horizons
The growth of FVDED in the Park reflects both its popularity and the festival’s commitment to providing an unforgettable experience. “We’ve been working for a couple of years now to expand a bit,” shared festival founder Alvaro Prol, who also heads Blueprint Events. The increase in daily capacity from last year’s 24,000 to 27,000 attendees for each day is a significant leap, indicating a robust demand for dance music in the region.
“The future is really bright,” Prol noted, hinting at the possibility of expanding to a three-day festival in the coming years. “Going three days in the future is definitely a conversation,” he asserted. This potential growth underscores the festival’s impact on Surrey’s economy by providing more opportunities for artists, vendors, and local businesses.
A Stellar Lineup
This year’s FVDED boasts a stellar lineup featuring big-name artists like Dom Dolla, Fisher, Disco Lines, Griz, and many others across four diverse stages: the Pacific Main Stage, Northwest Tent, Forest Stage, and Propagate Stage. Festival-goers can check the schedule and purchase tickets at fvdedinthepark.com.
Saturday’s spotlight will shine on Dom Dolla, an Australian house producer whose career has skyrocketed since Prol first booked him at a small Vancouver club. “He’s an absolute behemoth of an artist now,” Prol remarked, reflecting on Dolla’s extraordinary journey from small venues to a festival headliner.
The Evolution of FVDED
Blueprint Events and Live Nation Canada co-produce FVDED, officially pronounced as “faded,” a term popular in both music and urban culture. FVDED has become one of British Columbia’s most anticipated annual EDM festivals since its inception in 2015, initially launching with headliners like Deadmau5 and The Weeknd.
“Dance music has become so popular everywhere; it’s finally a household thing,” Prol stated. The festival has witnessed dance music’s evolution from underground roots to mainstream appeal, solidifying its role within the cultural fabric of the community.
Enhancing the Experience
For this year’s festival, organizers have introduced several enhancements aimed at improving the experience for attendees. “The site will look beautiful,” Prol promised, highlighting adjustments made to expand the main dance floor, thereby offering more room for festival-goers to dance and enjoy the performances. Changes have also been made to the Propagate and Forest stages, aiming to create an immersive atmosphere that utilizes the natural beauty of the park.
Exciting Ventures Beyond the Festival
In addition to his role in shaping FVDED, Prol has been busy with other projects, including the FIFA World Cup. Blueprint Events operates Good Co. bars, including a buzzing location in Vancouver’s Granville Street fan zone. “I thought FIFA was going to be a thing, but I didn’t think it was going to be oh my god, out of hand,” he explained, expressing excitement about the bustling atmosphere.
When asked about the potential for opening a Good Co. location in Surrey, Prol confirmed ongoing discussions with the city. “I think Blueprint has to own and operate some sort of establishment in Surrey,” he said, showcasing the festival’s broader ambitions to foster community and culture within the region.
Community and Cultural Impact
FVDED not only serves as a hub for music lovers but also generates significant economic and cultural impact in Surrey. By drawing in thousands of attendees, the festival cultivates an environment of creativity and celebration, highlighting the demands of an increasingly popular genre.
With its compelling lineup, community engagement, and ongoing growth, FVDED in the Park signifies much more than a weekend music event — it’s a vibrant celebration of culture, connection, and the ever-evolving landscape of electronic dance music.
