50,000+ Coming to Surrey’s FVDED, One of B.C.’s Biggest EDM Festivals
A Weekend of Rhythm and Revelry in Surrey
Prepare to lose yourself in the electrifying beats of EDM as close to 50,000 dance music lovers converge at Surrey’s Holland Park for the 2026 edition of FVDED in the Park on July 3-4. This year, the festival is poised to be its most ambitious yet, with an increased daily capacity designed to accommodate more revelers, creating a giant block party atmosphere.
Growing Popularity and Capacity
The FVDED festival has garnered a reputation for drawing massive crowds and impressive lineups. With nearly 60 artists and DJs set to perform across multiple stages, this year’s expansion aims to enhance the festival experience for its attendees. According to the festival’s founder and planner, Alvaro Prol, the daily capacity has ramped up from last year’s 24,000 to approximately 27,000 for both days. This increase signals a successful response to the growing demand for electronic dance music in British Columbia.
“We’ve been working for a couple of years now to expand a bit,” said Prol, who manages Blueprint Events. “We’ve already gone past the 24,000, so our biggest year ever in the history of FVDED has already happened.”
Looking to the Future
Alvaro Prol expressed his vision for FVDED, hinting at potential future expansions. “Going three days in the future is the vision,” he said. The challenges posed by the pandemic and other obstacles have tested many festivals. However, Prol remains optimistic as the festival thrives, looking forward to offering more artists and making a significant economic impact on Surrey.
Star-Studded Lineup and Stages
This year’s lineup features a stellar array of musicians, including prominent names such as Dom Dolla, Fisher, Disco Lines, and Griz. The festival will utilize four distinct stages: the Pacific Main Stage, Northwest Tent, Forest Stage, and Propagate. Tickets can be purchased via FVDED’s official website, which also provides essential information regarding stage schedules.
Highlighting this year’s main event is Saturday’s headliner, Dom Dolla, whose journey from a small club in Vancouver to becoming a significant name in electronic music showcases the rise of both the artist and the festival. Prol recalled, “I think I paid him two grand and I’m like, ‘This guy’s got a cool name.’ And now he’s massive, a big headliner.”
The Evolution of a Festival
FVDED, co-produced by Blueprint and Live Nation Canada, has become a staple in B.C.’s music scene since its launch in 2015, featuring past headliners like Deadmau5 and The Weeknd. Prol explains the festival’s steady growth aligns with the increasing popularity of dance music. “The demand is there, the music is a hit, it’s mainstream now,” he noted. What was once considered niche has transformed into a genre celebrated by diverse audiences.
Enhanced Festival Experience
In response to feedback, this year’s festival has undergone various modifications aimed at enhancing the guest experience. Prol assured that attendees will enjoy more room to dance, with adjustments made to the main dance floor and refreshing designs for the stages. “The site will look beautiful,” he promised, describing a reconfigured layout to better accommodate the crowd and create an immersive experience.
Side Hustles and Business Ventures
Alvaro Prol is also juggling the demands of the FIFA World Cup, where his company operates bars within the Granville Street fan zone in Vancouver. “I thought FIFA was going to be a thing but I didn’t think it was going to be oh my god, out of hand,” he remarked about the bustling atmosphere in the city.
When discussing potential business ventures in Surrey, Prol hinted at the possibility of establishing a Good Co. location. “I think Blueprint has to own and operate some sort of establishment in Surrey,” he stated while exploring the right opportunities.
An Invitation to Party
With a lineup promising unforgettable performances, expanded space for dancing, and a vibrant atmosphere, FVDED in the Park is set to deliver an exhilarating weekend to its attendees. Prepare to unite with fellow fans and celebrate the rhythm of electronic dance music this July, as Surrey transforms into the epicenter of sound and joy.
