Award-winning dance music legend Fatboy Slim will perform in Tallinn at Põhjala Tehas on November 21. The creator of mega hits including “Praise You”, “Right Here, Right Now” and “The Rockafeller Skank” will visit Estonia for the first time and take the stage at Põhjala Tehas in Tallinn, a venue personally selected by the artist for the concert, with a spectacular show. Fatboy Slim, whose real name is Norman Cook, has permanently etched his name in the annals of dance music history. Emerging in the early ’90s, he quickly became one of the foremost pioneers of the big beat genre, which played a crucial role in making electronic dance music a household name. His career took a significant leap with the 1998 release of his second studio album, *You’ve Come a Long Way, Baby*, which featured iconic tracks like “Praise You” and “Right Here, Right Now.” This album has sold millions of copies worldwide, cementing his status as a global sensation.
Norman Cook’s musical journey has been anything but typical. He kicked off his career as a bassist in an indie band in 1985. After the band’s breakup in 1988, he embraced electronic music, purchasing his first controller, synthesizers, and samplers. His initial foray into producing music began around this time, highlighted by *Dub Be Good to Me*, a chart-topping release from 1990 with Beats International, a collective in which he participated. Following the collective’s split in 1992, Cook ventured into guitar with an acid jazz band but soon realized he preferred to explore the realm of electronic beats instead.
