Scheduled for Saturday, June 6th, and Sunday, June 7th, this beloved free festival celebrates the joy of leisure time, inviting attendees from Greater Manchester and beyond to come together in celebration of the weekend.
The festival promises an exhilarating array of activities, featuring over 200 free events. This remarkable lineup invites participants to immerse themselves in various forms of entertainment, from live music and sports to family-friendly activities, theatre performances, and artistic workshops. Food lovers will also find their bliss with an assortment of delicious street food, while those seeking relaxation can take part in well-being sessions. The event encapsulates the essence of the weekend, offering something for everyone.
Among the highlights of this year’s programme is Perfect Pitch, a stunning performance by the English National Opera, alongside the innovative Walk the Plank, a performance inspired by the exuberance of the World Cup. Children can explore creativity and history at the interactive Explore Play Street zone, designed to celebrate the rich legacy of play streets in Salford. Music enthusiasts can join local icon Peter Hook in a captivating conversation with Mark Radcliffe, while also enjoying the nostalgic, high-energy vibes of the Club Culture dedication, showcasing the many eras of electronic dance music.
