Set in the breathtaking alpine landscape of Eggli, Gstaad, the Caprices Festival offers an immersive experience that melds stunning views with an eclectic array of dance music. This year’s lineup spans the entire spectrum of dance genres, from deep house and groove-driven techno to avant-garde and experimental sounds, ensuring there’s something for everyone.
What truly distinguishes Caprices is not just the music, but the unique rhythm of the venue. Days at the festival flow leisurely across sun-drenched terraces and glass-walled dance floors that provide sweeping vistas of the verdant valley below. As daylight wanes, the energy shifts inward to darker, more intimate club spaces where the music pulsates with greater intensity. This transition from open-air euphoria to late-night energy is a ritual that encapsulates the festival’s spirit.
We had a chance to catch up with several artists scheduled to perform, each excited to share their winter experiences and musical inspirations.
How has 2026 treated you so far, creatively or personally?
DJ Tennis: “So far, 2026 has been spectacular. I’ve spent a lot of time traveling and indulging in the food culture across Asia, and now I’m in Brazil. This laid-back journey has not only inspired me but has been instrumental in crafting my fabric mix, which feels authentically me.”
Sally C: “2026 feels good! I took a break at the start of the year to recharge, and I’ll be hitting the road for my annual Australia tour soon. I’m really looking forward to it—there’s something magical about touring there.”
Call Super: “2026 cherishes me!!”
Vintage Culture: “2026 feels special already! I’m gearing up for major shows in the U.S., and I’m excited about my upcoming residency at Pacha Ibiza. Each of these places pushes me creatively, allowing me to refine my sound with more intention.”

Reflecting on 2016: Any favorite music memories or tracks from that year?
DJ Tennis: “2016 was a transitional year for me, one filled with personal challenges and growth. Unfortunately, there aren’t any specific musical memories that stand out.”
Sally C: “Living in Berlin, I have vivid memories of a Sunday session at Panorama Bar with my friend Jenny. We were lost in the grooves Ryan Elliott was spinning, and it felt electric—a moment of discovery and freedom we can both appreciate to this day.”
Call Super: “The song ‘I Took a Pill in Ibiza’ by Mike Posner had a moment of resonance for me.”
Vintage Culture: “2016 marked the first edition of the Só Track Boa Festival in Brazil, which has become a significant milestone in my career. Also, that year I experienced Burning Man for the first time—a transformative experience that changed my perspective on music and life in general.”

It’s winter in the mountains. How do you fare in the cold, and what’s your favorite winter accessory?
DJ Tennis: “I actually prefer the cold. It’s more invigorating than hot weather.”
Sally C: “Being Irish, I’m quite comfortable in the chill. My go-to winter accessory? A massive cozy coat paired with stylish sunglasses.”
Call Super: “Definitely a fan of the cold—and I keep my brandy close!”
Vintage Culture: “Playing during winter is fascinating. The sharp air, the closeness of the crowd, and the cinematic feel of everything really enhance the experience. For winter, I can’t go without my oversized puffer jacket and cool boots.”

What has inspired you outside of music lately—books, visuals, or conversations?
DJ Tennis: “I’ve been watching movies that encourage me to create music without strict concepts—just for the sheer joy of it.”
Sally C: “I recently attended a fashion show called DAGGER in Berlin that deeply inspired me—the energy was palpable, influenced by the skate culture near my hometown.”
Call Super: “I’ve been engrossed in several inspiring works, like Tamara Lucid’s ‘Making the Ordinary Extraordinary’ and Alex Dimitrov’s ‘Ecstasy.’”
Vintage Culture: “I believe in wearing pieces that have history, identity, and a hint of rebellion—much like my music. Authenticity is key.”

Skiing, snowboarding, or après-ski?
DJ Tennis: “Skiing is definitely my preference; it draws a different crowd than snowboarding. However, it’s the people that matter most in the end.”
Sally C: “Après-ski all the way!”
Call Super: “Strictly après-ski for me!”
Vintage Culture: “I love a good après-ski vibe—with slopes during the day and music dominating the night; they complement each other perfectly.”
