50,000+ Coming to Surrey’s FVDED: One of B.C.’s Biggest EDM Festivals
As summer heats up, close to 50,000 dance music fans are gearing up for an epic weekend at Surrey’s Holland Park during the 2026 edition of FVDED in the Park, taking place on July 3-4. This annual festival of electronic dance music (EDM) is set to be the largest FVDED yet, expanding its daily capacity to around 27,000 attendees after successfully hosting 24,000 last year.
Festival Growth
“We’ve been working for a couple years now to expand a bit,” shares Alvaro Prol, the founder and mastermind behind the festival, who runs Blueprint Events. This year marks a significant milestone, as the event has already shattered its previous attendance records. Prol emphasizes that talks are underway about expanding FVDED to a three-day format in the future, a testament to the growing popularity and demand for dance music.
“Going three days in the future is the vision,” he adds. The festival has faced its share of challenges, particularly during the pandemic, but now it emerges stronger than ever, with exciting prospects for the future.
A Star-Studded Lineup
The 2026 edition of FVDED boasts a lineup that will electrify the audience, featuring nearly 60 artists and DJs across four vibrant stages— the Pacific Main Stage, Northwest Tent, Forest Stage, and Propagate Stage. Saturday’s headliner is the sensational Dom Dolla, an Australian house producer known for chart-topping hits and captivating performances. Prol fondly recalls discovering Dolla during his early career: “First time I heard him, he played at Shine—I think I paid him two grand,” he says, highlighting the joy of watching artists grow from small venues to festival headliners.
Other notable performers include Fisher, Disco Lines, and Griz, ensuring that festival-goers will experience a diverse array of music that celebrates the EDM genre. Tickets for this high-energy weekend are available at fvdedinthepark.com, where detailed stage schedules are also provided.
The Community Impact
FVDED in the Park has grown not just in attendance but also in cultural significance since its launch in 2015, featuring headliners like Deadmau5 and The Weeknd. The festival has become a staple in British Columbia’s music scene and offers substantial economic benefits to Surrey. Prol highlights this positive impact: “To be able to offer more artists and more opportunity and more work and more economic impact to Surrey is definitely something we would love to do.”
Prol’s connection to Surrey goes beyond just the festival; he also operates several bars in Vancouver, including Good Co. locations in key areas. When asked about possibly opening a Good Co. venue in Surrey, he responded optimistically, saying, “I think Blueprint has to own and operate some sort of establishment in Surrey.”
Festival Enhancements
This year’s FVDED features several modifications aimed at enhancing the festival-goers’ experience. Prol mentions various improvements, including expanding the main dance floor and reimagining stage setups. “The site will look beautiful,” he assures, stressing that these enhancements will create a more enjoyable environment for attendees to dance and revel in the music.
The Forest Stage promises to be especially enchanting, as it has been designed to bring festival-goers into a scenic, wooded area that adds to the immersive experience.
A Busy Summer Ahead
For Prol, the summer is not just about FVDED; he is simultaneously navigating the bustling atmosphere of the FIFA World Cup in Vancouver, where Blueprint operates several venues. His excitement is palpable when discussing FIFA: “I thought it was going to be a thing but I didn’t think it was going to be oh my god, out of hand. It’s been incredible on Granville Street.”
As both events unfold, Prol balances his roles as a festival organizer and business owner, ensuring that both FVDED and his bars thrive in this vibrant city.
In summary, FVDED in the Park is not only a celebration of music and dance but also a significant event that brings community, culture, and commerce together in Surrey, making it one of the most anticipated weekends of the summer for EDM fans across British Columbia.
