Pulsar Audio has unveiled IPA 25, a multi-VCA dynamics processor inspired by a classic American bus compressor. This innovative plugin allows producers to manage dynamics more effectively while introducing harmonic character and ensuring drums are well-integrated into mixes.
Exploring Compression Capabilities
Producers often face challenges when selecting compressor plugins due to the diverse requirements of their mixes. IPA 25 streamlines this process by combining several features into one interface, enabling users to switch between different compression modes without needing multiple plugins.
The plugin features four distinct modes: Original VCA, Clean VCA, V-Mu, and N-Diode. Each mode caters to specific processing needs, from recreating the classic hardware character to providing transparent options and introducing tube-like harmonics.
Advanced Sidechain Features
One standout aspect of IPA 25 is its sidechain section, which includes a visual four-band EQ and support for external sidechain inputs. This allows for precise control over how the compressor interacts with various frequency ranges, essential for achieving the desired mix balance, especially in electronic music.
With adjustable stereo linking and multiple detector modes, users can tailor compression responses to specific elements within their tracks, reducing unwanted gain reduction triggered by excessive low frequencies or focusing on specific transient details.
Black Friday Promotion on IPA 25
In conjunction with its release, Pulsar Audio is offering IPA 25 at a reduced price of €69, down from its usual €149, just in time for Black Friday. This promotion is part of a broader sale featuring discounts of up to 70% on selected products.
For those already utilizing a VCA compressor, the additional control and flexibility provided by IPA 25’s features may represent a valuable upgrade. Its capacity to adjust circuit models and incorporate compression tools within a single plugin streamlines mixing tasks, particularly for drum groups and bus channels.
Producers interested in exploring these capabilities can find more information and download a trial from the Pulsar Audio product page.
