This summer, one of Italy’s most ambitious multidisciplinary cultural projects returns with a vision that goes far beyond the traditional festival format. SPHERA – Tones Teatro Natura opens its 2026 season from June 26th to June 28th at the spectacular Cava Roncino in Oira di Crevoladossola, transforming a former quarry into a living laboratory of ideas, creativity and human connection.
Built around the principles of the New European Bauhaus Project, SPHERA explores the relationship between culture, sustainability, innovation and quality of life. Rather than focusing solely on music, the event creates a space where art, science, nature and community interact through a diverse three-day program designed to inspire reflection and participation.
Set within one of Italy’s most striking natural venues, surrounded by dramatic rock formations and Alpine landscapes, the festival invites visitors to disconnect from everyday routines and engage with new perspectives on the future. Organizers describe SPHERA as a platform for visionary practices and innovative thinking, particularly focused on themes important to younger generations, including environmental responsibility and digital transformation.
The musical program reflects this broad and inclusive philosophy.
Live performances will feature artists including Vittoria Donda, Queen of Saba, Fabrizio Rat, I Patagarri and Mefisto Brass, each bringing their own distinctive artistic language to the festival. On the electronic side, audiences can look forward to DJ sets from Sam Ruffillo, the collective Eureka featuring Agape and Chaos in the Streets, as well as special performances from Waldo b2b Tania Kim, Industrial Romantico, and the evocatively named Tempio di Bacco con i Bellissimi Dischi di Ornavasso.
However, music is only one part of the experience.
Throughout the weekend, visitors will have access to a wide variety of activities including talks, artistic performances, yoga sessions, wine and food tastings, guided excursions and cultural workshops. The program also includes appearances from Italian stand-up comedian Fill Pill, further highlighting the festival’s commitment to crossing creative boundaries and bringing different disciplines into conversation with one another.
Camping will be available throughout the duration of the event, allowing attendees to fully immerse themselves in the atmosphere and experience SPHERA as a temporary community rather than simply a series of performances.
Supported by the Laboratorio di Creatività Contemporanea and promoted by the Directorate-General for Contemporary Creativity of the Italian Ministry of Culture, the project continues to gain recognition as one of the country’s most innovative cultural initiatives.
In an era where festivals often compete through scale and spectacle, SPHERA offers a different proposition: a place where ideas matter as much as performances, where nature becomes part of the stage, and where culture serves as a catalyst for imagining better futures.
For three days in June, Cava Roncino becomes exactly that place.
A festival, a conversation and an experience unlike any other. 🌿🎶✨🏔️🖤
