UJAM has introduced DETUNICORN, a free Halloween-themed synthesizer focused on the heavily detuned hypersaw, a staple sound in contemporary electronic music. Designed for producers of hyperpop, digicore, and dance pop, this innovative instrument is tailored for creating processed chords synonymous with modern pop production.
Overview of DETUNICORN
DETUNICORN features a synthesis engine that utilizes layered sawtooth oscillators along with a select array of sound-shaping controls. UJAM highlights that this instrument aims to simplify the sound programming process, providing just six control options for users who know the desired sonic outcome. The plugin will be available for a limited time, with a download window lasting for 666 hours.
Control Features of DETUNICORN
The synthesizer combines two supersaw oscillators with a sub-oscillator and unison processing to facilitate access to detuned chords and lead sounds without complex configurations. The six controls manage different aspects of the sound, enhancing versatility in production.
Unison adjusts the number of oscillators layered, impacting the sound’s density. Detune allows users to create movement and width by spreading the oscillators. Sub manages the sub-oscillator’s level, enriching the lower frequencies. Adding further control, Bend provides a customizable pitch movement, essential for genres like hyperpop.
Additionally, Bite modifies the high-frequency character, while Infinity offers a specialized reverb effect. These features cater to the needs of electronic music producers, helping them achieve the broad soundscapes typical of modern tracks.
How to Get DETUNICORN
DETUNICORN is available for download and activation through the UJAM App, which requires users to sign in to their account. The promotion remains valid for a specific time frame, during which users can activate the plugin at no cost. Post-activation, the synthesizer can be utilized without any additional fees or subscriptions.
The plugin is compatible with VST2, VST3, AU2, and AAX formats across macOS and Windows, accommodating a wide range of systems. It requires a minimum of 8 GB of RAM and around 300 MB of storage to function effectively.
In a crowded market of software synthesizers, DETUNICORN’s focused approach and zero cost present an appealing option for producers aiming to create rich detuned sounds quickly and efficiently.
Producers can find DETUNICORN available for download at UJAM’s official website.
