Three Nights of Epic Waterfront Electronic Music
The festival kicks off on Friday with a much-anticipated DJ set by ODESZA, marking their second appearance at We Belong Here. Known for their electrifying performances, ODESZA aims to bring the same high energy they showcased during their debut in Tampa Bay. On Saturday, patrons can groove along to a massive three-hour sunset set from dance music legend Carl Cox, who is widely regarded as one of the genre’s most esteemed figures. He will be joined by Steve Angello, whose influence spans decades, particularly through his work with Swedish House Mafia and Size Records. Blond:ish will also take to the stage, known for her eclectic and genre-blending sets that emphasize community and inclusivity.
As the festival wraps up on Sunday, fans can look forward to a performance by rising star Sammy Virji, whose bass-driven sound has garnered significant attention in the UK and beyond. Max Styler will also be showcasing his talents after a successful run with recent releases and festival appearances. Beyond the headliners, the lineup features a mix of established artists and newcomers, including Blu DeTiger (DJ set), ChaseWest, Madison Park, Robbie Doherty, Simon Doty, Styro, Supertaste (DJ set), Apex Martin, Coco & Breezy, and Andre Power, co-founder of Soulection. This diverse representation encapsulates the festival’s commitment to promoting both melodic house and underground club sounds.
Showcasing New Orleans’ Underground Scene
Emphasizing a community-first approach, We Belong Here is dedicated to showcasing the rich underground music scene of New Orleans. Over the weekend, the festival will spotlight 20 local artists, including notable acts like Qbaby Worldwide, known for merging bounce and house music into a unique local sound. Legatron Prime and Bouffant Bouffant will also bring their distinct underground vibes, ensuring that the festival embodies the authentic sound of New Orleans. This focus on local flavor enhances the experience, bridging the gap between global dance music and the city’s deep-rooted artistic legacy.
Charles Hochfelder, co-founder of the festival, commented on the importance of music culture in New Orleans. He aims to create an experience that feels immersive and allows attendees to connect deeply with the environment. He states:
‘Music is woven into the fabric of New Orleans. We’re excited to bring dance music to the French Quarter at this level and create something that feels immersive, intentional, and rooted in the spirit of the city.’
This event represents another pivotal expansion for We Belong Here, following successful festivals in Miami, New York, and Tampa Bay. Given New Orleans’ vibrant history and cultural energy, it is positioned perfectly to welcome this festival, once again revitalizing the waterfront with the spirit of dance music.
Fans eager to join the festivities can register for presale access and travel packages. Presale begins on Thursday, June 11 at 12 PM CT / 1 PM ET, with general sale to follow shortly after.
