A former model who has just celebrated his 60th birthday has left people astounded by looking decades younger.
Chuando Tan, a photographer and former fashion model, took to social media recently to mark his milestone birthday. Posing alongside a Jeep adorned with festive balloons, Tan shared a heartfelt message: “Today, on my 60th birthday, I am reminded that time is the only real wealth. Each sunrise arrives as an inheritance, not a guarantee. I am grateful to stand on this Earth still. The wiser path now is simple: return daily to nature and sunlight, and align myself with what endures.” He ended his reflective post with a wish for “PEACE ON EARTH,” which resonated with his followers, earning over 1.6 million likes.
Tan’s youthful appearance sparked a flurry of comments across social platforms, with many supporters expressing disbelief that he had turned 60. One user noted, “He really does look like he’s in his late 20s or early 30s, that’s really impressive!” Another chimed in, “He looks younger than me, and I am 30,” while some humorously speculated whether Tan might be a vampire.
Over the years, Tan has shared insights into his vibrant lifestyle, providing followers with glimpses into the habits and nourishing foods that keep him fit and young. In a video from October last year, he showcased a healthy meal of sliced fish fillets served in clear soup with steamed rice. When questioned about his secret to longevity, he revealed that eating ‘clean,’ including dishes like fish soup, plays a significant role in his diet.
In another clip, Tan highlighted the benefits of jumping rope. He emphasized that engaging in this simple yet effective exercise for at least 15 minutes daily can extend lifespan. “The repetitive up-and-down motion not only helps tighten our internal organs—slowing age-related loosening and boosting metabolism—but also burns fat around the organs,” he elaborated. His posts continue to inspire others to embrace fitness and a wholesome lifestyle.

The scientific community supports Tan’s enthusiasm for jumping rope. A study from 2013 indicated that just 10 minutes of skipping daily over six weeks offers comparable benefits to jogging for 30 minutes. These benefits include improved bone density, cardiovascular health, and even reduced anxiety.
In 2024, Tan shared more insights on aging gracefully with the South China Morning Post, emphasizing the importance of incorporating regular strength-training exercises into one’s routine. He recommended compound exercises like squats, lunges, bench presses, and pull-ups to engage multiple muscle groups simultaneously. “Studies show these time-effective routines help burn more calories, improve and build intermuscular coordination, strengthen the core, and build muscle mass,” he explained.
Tan also discussed the crucial role of vitamin D — stressing the importance of exposure while being mindful of skin health to mitigate damage. Yet perhaps the most significant insight he shared is the emphasis on maintaining a positive outlook. “Mindset plays a crucial role in shaping one’s path,” he asserted, underscoring the link between emotional well-being and a fulfilling life as one ages.
