Launch of INVERSA: A New Frontier for Latin Electronic Music
On April 22, a transformative initiative in the music industry took shape with the launch of INVERSA, a new record label designed specifically to showcase electronic music talent from South and Latin America. Backed by a constellation of notable investors known throughout music circles—including Milk & Honey Music + Sports, M3 Music, and ONErpm—INVERSA aims to create pathways for regional artists to connect with the global dance community.
Vision and Mission
At its core, INVERSA is dedicated to bridging the gap between the rich electronic music landscape in Latin America and international audiences. The label intends to nurture and promote local talent, enabling artists to build robust careers while connecting them to the larger electronic music network.
Max Geistfeld, a manager at Milk & Honey, emphasized this goal in a recent statement. “We’re incredibly excited to help build the foundation for the rapidly expanding electronic industry across Latin America,” he said. With their expertise in global artist development, Milk & Honey will play a crucial role in global A&R, marketing, and promotional strategies for the label.
Spotlight on 19Clouds
Leading the charge at INVERSA is artist 19Clouds, an electronic music producer hailing from Bogotá, Colombia. With over 756,000 monthly listeners on Spotify, 19Clouds is set to become the first artist to release music under the INVERSA banner. Beyond just producing music, he will also serve as a creative decision-maker for the label, helping identify and sign new talent.
Reflecting on his role, 19Clouds stated, “Having experienced firsthand the challenges of building an artist project within the Latin dance ecosystem, I’m excited to be part of an initiative focused on creating a solid foundation for artists locally.” His involvement signifies a unique perspective, as he understands both the local artistic landscape and the intricacies of navigating global markets.
Collaborative Efforts and Global Reach
The launch of INVERSA comes with the strategic support of ONErpm, a global music distribution powerhouse. Operating in over 40 countries, ONErpm will not only manage the distribution of INVERSA’s releases but also provide additional A&R services, marketing strategies, and opportunities for collaborations and remixes. Eddie Blackmon, VP of A&R at ONErpm, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, noting that INVERSA is a key step in connecting Latin talent with the worldwide electronic market.
Similarly, M3 Music, which boasts over 15 years of experience in nurturing Latin American talent, will support INVERSA by offering localized A&R, marketing, and promotional services. Daniel Zawadzki, a partner at M3 Music, reiterated the unique identity of the Latin electronic music scene, stating, “The electronic music industry in Latin America is growing rapidly, with its own unique identity.”
Expanding Horizons for Milk & Honey
For Milk & Honey, the INVERSA launch further advances their commitment to expanding their global presence. In recent months, they have signed high-profile talent, including Grammy-winning mixer Dan Grech-Marguerat and clients from the renowned Bigfoot Music Management. The agency’s recent foray into launching Milk & Honey Records also indicates a robust strategy aimed at diversifying their portfolio within the pop and dance music genres.
Bridging Local Talent to Global Stages
As INVERSA sets the stage for Latin electronic music artists, its commitment to fostering local talent and connecting them with the global landscape reflects a progressive approach in the record label industry. Through strategic partnerships, innovative marketing, and a focus on artist empowerment, INVERSA is poised to make a significant impact, elevating the artistic voices of South and Latin American musicians to an international audience.
