Croatian producer Zvonimir Dusper Dus introduces a fresh concept with his new project Dussanova, transforming some of the country’s biggest pop hits into elegant bossa nova interpretations.
Croatian music producer Zvonimir Dusper Dus is bringing a refreshing new concept to the local music scene with the launch of his latest project, Dussanova. The initiative aims to reinterpret some of the most recognizable Croatian songs by blending them with the timeless rhythms and atmosphere of Brazilian bossa nova.
Inspired by international playlists that frequently combine the relaxed bossa nova sound with well-known global hits, Dus saw an opportunity to explore a similar idea using domestic material. The result is a unique project that reimagines familiar melodies in a completely new musical setting.
Rather than releasing a full album at once, Dussanova will unfold gradually. Every few months, three new singles will be released, each accompanied by both a vocal version and an instrumental interpretation where musicians perform the vocal melodies through their instruments. Later in the year, the project will also produce a full instrumental album.
The repertoire will span several generations of Croatian music, from timeless classics and iconic hits of the 1990s to modern songs currently dominating radio airwaves. Over time, the project will build a collection of 30 bossa nova reinterpretations, ultimately forming two albums set for release on March 21.
