Nicole Moudaber Returns with New EP on MoodCollective
Nicole Moudaber, the prominent figure in the electronic dance music scene, has recently made waves with her latest release, a two-track EP entitled “She Loves My Music feat. POSITIVV / Think About You.” This fresh endeavor is available on MoodCollective, her own label, which she has consistently nurtured since its inception. With this new release, cataloged as MC018, Moudaber delivers her trademark style while also exploring new musical territories.
A Dancefloor-First Approach
The newly released EP embodies Moudaber’s signature rhythmic, dancefloor-centric sound that has defined many MoodCollective productions. Both tracks pivot towards a groove-driven house and tech-house aesthetic, marking a deliberate exploration of a sonic realm that stands in contrast to the heavier techno sound for which she has gained acclaim on the festival circuit. This subtle shift signifies an essential aspect of Moudaber’s artistry—an invitation to experience the many facets of her musical talent.
Expanding Musical Horizons
“She Loves My Music / Think About You” represents not a departure from her roots but rather an expansion of her repertoire. Moudaber has always displayed a remarkable ability to fluidly traverse genres, adeptly adjusting her sets to the ambiance of the venue. This versatility allows her to connect with audiences in a way that is both intimate and explosive, celebrating the shared energy of the dancefloor.
A Personal Collaboration
A pivotal highlight of this release is Moudaber’s collaboration with POSITIVV, a talented Nigerian artist. Given that Moudaber was born in Ibadan, Nigeria, this connection adds a personal dimension to the project. The camaraderie between the two artists is palpable, especially after POSITIVV sent over vocal takes that resonated deeply with Moudaber. Upon discovering that they share their birthplace, a sense of destiny emerged in their collaboration.
Speaking on this convergence, Moudaber expressed, “I’ve always wanted to connect with Nigeria through my music, but I was waiting for it to happen in the right way.” The alignment felt serendipitous, and together they cultivated a track that showcases the soulful essence of their shared heritage. Moudaber recounted, “That bassline, the groove, and his vocal hitting in that break just became magic.” The response during her live sets validates the potency of the track: “I’ve been playing it in my sets and every single time, the room comes alive. So I guess she really does love my music.”
POSITIVV’s Take on the Collaboration
POSITIVV has echoed Moudaber’s excitement about their collaboration, emphasizing how the creative process has exceeded his initial expectations. He shared, “Working with Nicole on this record has been an incredible experience. I love how she took the original idea and transformed it with her own signature sound while keeping the emotion and spirit of the vocal intact.” The palpable energy that arises when Moudaber performs their collaborative piece adds an additional layer of anticipation for what’s next in their partnership.

This release signifies Moudaber’s shift back to focusing on her own production work, illuminating the ethos that underpins MoodCollective: rhythm, energy, and the collective experience of the dancefloor.
